The purpose of this study was to develop a district-wide grading policy to create consistency and fairness among grading procedures.

The intern developed a grading policy committee which included both male and female, veteran and first year teachers. It had a teacher from each grade level.

This committee developed guidelines and criteria for issuing grades for students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and 3rd through 8th grade.

The purpose of this study was to implement an in-school suspension program to change students' attitudes and provide alternatives to negative behavior. This was achieved by obtaining information from other schools about their ISS programs. It was then determined what would constitute an effective program at Cherokee. Meetings were held with every department to explain how the program would operate and the teachers' role for the success of the program. The various elements of ISS were explained. In an attempt to curb the dropout rate, Troup County School System has developed several programs that focus on students identified as at-risk. A characteristic associated closely with many at-risk youth is having been retained in grade. A policy in the middle schools in Troup County is designed to identify students who have been retained in grade two years and assign them to a higher grade in an attempt to place them with others closer to their own age. The purpose of this study was (1) to determine how elementary and secondary teachers in a large North Dakota school district perceived the power base use of their principals and (2) to determine how satisfied these teachers were with the power base use.

The researcher administered the Power Perception Profile- Perception of Other and a brief questionnaire to the teachers to study the relationship between satisfaction and background variables. Of 544 teachers in the district, 410 participated resulting in 379 usable responses, a total of 69.7% of all teachers in the district. Interviews were conducted with principals after results were …
