The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine the factors and how teachers interpret the influence emotional intelligence (EI) on the retention of teachers in the Arkansas River Valley. The current study investigated the perspective of principals related to the influence of professional development on their self-efficacy and professional growth. A qualitative, phenomenological study was conducted involving 14 school administrators from 10 different states with vary experience from 2 years to 17 years in an administrative position. The study utilized semi-structured interviews, field notes, and reflexive journals to gather data. Collected data were analyzed through coding and thematic analysis. As the COVID-19 pandemic ended, the number of teachers leaving the profession soared resulting in a teacher shortage that is crippling schools. Public education is faced with unstaffed classrooms, uncertified teachers, and students missing quality instruction. The purpose of this phenomenological study is to illuminate the experiences before and during the COVID-19 pandemic that led to educators in South Carolina exiting the profession. The purpose of this qualitative narrative study was to examine teachers’ perceptions on effective strategies to retain Black ninth-grade students Data was collected from 10 ninth-grade teachers who have at least three years of teaching experience of ninth-graders. The ninth-grade teachers shared their experiences of working with Black ninth-grade students while reflecting and sharing their perceptions on strategies they have implemented to prevent these students from dropping out of school. The purpose of this study was to determine the possible correlations between the five techno-stressors that make up technostress and the burnout experienced by rural Arkansas high school teachers. The American school system is funded, operated, and evaluated based on student academic achievement data that is generated by various assessment tools and grading practices. The most traditional grading practice, norm-referenced grading, assesses student academic achievement on a 100-point scale that is further broken into categorical levels (A-F) of proficiency. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to examine the lived experiences of special education teachers as they relate to teacher preparation programs and how they prepared teachers to work with and lead paraprofessionals. Hersey and Blanchard’s situational leadership approach and Adult Leadership Theory are the theoretical basis for this study. Qualitative data was collected through twelve semi-structured interviews. Findings showed that special education teachers do perceive that college preparation programs do not adequately prepare them to lead paraprofessionals. The concentration in K-12 education on higher-order thinking has diminished the importance of math fact automaticity, which is the ability to deliver a correct answer immediately from long-term memory without impeding the working memory. This quantitative study investigated the influence of automaticity of high school students on their Missouri standardized high school math assessment, controlling for student socioeconomic status and gender. This study explored the relationships between perceived administrative support, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment as experienced by elementary teachers. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 16 elementary school teachers to gain insight through their perspectives of the lived experiences of administrator support and how it influences job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Social exchange theory was selected as the guiding theory for the study, which is best applied to understand the nature of the relationships between perceived administrative support and organizational commitment. In this dissertation, the active recess blocks students received during the 2020- 2021 and 2021-2022 school years at Valley Grove Middle School are evaluated to determine increased physical activity effects on students' behavior and academics. The problem of reduced recess blocks and their relationship to lower academic outcomes, precisely three recess blocks or more per school day, is examined. During the 1990s, it was ruled that the state of public school funding was unconstitutional. To solve this problem the state legislature passed Act 60 of 2003. Act 60 set the minimum enrollment for a school district at 350. This has led to the consolidation of many school districts.
