Edtech For Learning Outcomes And Impact: A Comprehensive Approach, Priyanka Sharma
Edtech For Learning Outcomes And Impact: A Comprehensive Approach, Priyanka Sharma
Student learning processes
A precise estimation of learners' abilities is the first and foremost step in personalized learning including EdTech solutions. Predictive analytic techniques such as Item Response Theory (IRT), Bayesian Knowledge Tracing (BKT), and Performance Factor Analysis (PFA) are established practices to achieve this purpose. However, the complexity, cost, and time involved in calibration, and the challenges in online implementation, have led to the adoption of simpler alternatives such as Elo, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, the estimation of abilities is just one facet of personalized learning, and designing effective personalized learning experiences is equally essential to guide learners through their …
Improving School Climate: The Impact Of A Perma-Based Intervention On Educators' Well-Being And Emotional Intelligence, Jennifer Andrews Kenney
Improving School Climate: The Impact Of A Perma-Based Intervention On Educators' Well-Being And Emotional Intelligence, Jennifer Andrews Kenney
Doctor of Education (Ed.D.)
Research has demonstrated that the condition of a school’s climate substantially influences student outcomes. This study investigated the factors influencing a sub-optimal school climate in a rural school. Results indicated that educators’ unmet social and emotional needs and an absence of well-being support influenced the quality of the school climate. To address this problem, this study examined the impact of an eight-week PERMA-based multicomponent positive psychology intervention (MPPI) on rural educators’ well-being, emotional intelligence (EI), and professional practice. The participants consisted of 13 rural educators. Using a convergent mixed methods research design, the researcher merged quantitative data comprising pre-test and …

Forward-Looking Academic Impact Rankings For U.S. Law Schools, Matthew Sag
Forward-Looking Academic Impact Rankings For U.S. Law Schools, Matthew Sag
Faculty Articles
Although the very concept of law school rankings is currently under fire, rankings abolitionism is misplaced. Given the number, diversity, and geographic dispersion of the more than 190 law schools fully accredited by the American Bar Association, rankings are essential to enable various stakeholders to make comparisons between schools. However, the current rankings landscape is dire. The U.S News law school rankings rely on poorly designed, highly subjective surveys to gauge "reputational strength," rather than looking to easily available, objective citation data that is more valid and reliable. Would-be usurpers of U.S. News use better data but make other arbitrary …
