In this study, we describe the innovative and rigorous phased process used to compose the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) National School Library Standards (AASL, 2018). We begin by recounting previous standards iterations and compared their development processes to the most recent process used during the development of the AASL Standards. After we detail the development timeline and process phases, we conclude with implications for best practices in standards development for school librarians, professional leaders, and practitioners.

The amount of information in the world has grown exponentially in the last generation. Students often believe that growing up as digital natives means they have advanced information literacy skills. However, school librarians are not seeing evidence of this in their schools. The purpose of this study was to determine if secondary students overestimate their information literacy (IL) abilities, if relationships exist between IL self-efficacy and performance, and if grade level or self-efficacy level changes those relationships. As complex systems approaches to research gain a foothold in educational research, educational researchers may be faced with unique study design challenges. Studies that do not target appropriate levels of analysis or do not capture variable change over time at a fine enough granularity run the risk of missing complex, dynamic, and emergent properties that are the hallmark of complex system behavior. By taking into account context, multiple levels of analysis, and change over time complex systems approaches generate evidence for dynamic processes in education. In our current climate of heightened conservatism and criticism, multicultural education is as important as ever. This article argues for the need to reframe multicultural education as a praxis based on its social justice- oriented principles, values, and practices. Using practitioner action research, I examine my implementation of such a praxis in a college course. I discuss critical reflections on demonstrating the interconnections between current and historical social movements, theory and lived experiences, and the students’ and my learning. I conclude by arguing that reframing multicultural education as a praxis could encourage more coalitions within and beyond schools.

The AP Calculus program at Green High School was not adequately preparing students for college level calculus as more than 80 percent of the students failed the AP exam. The students were concurrently receiving high marks on in-class assessments. Hence, the in-class assessments were not good indicators of students calculus understanding according to the AP standards. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to examine how teachers from various levels of technology self-efficacy perceive and implement technology within their specific classroom. Using a qualitative approach, I explored four public schools from a medium to large-sized school district in the Southeastern United States. Complications associated with diabetes include heart disease, stroke, hypertension, blindness, kidney disease, neuropathy and death. All of these complications can be prevented with optimal control of blood glucose levels. Advances in technology provide people living with diabetes (PLWD) a multitude of treatment options such as continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) therapy. The purpose of this study was to use elements for developing teacher identity, personal philosophy, beliefs about teaching and learning, and reflection to frame an examination of the effect of Positive-Attitude Cues (PACs) on teacher candidates’(n = 135) mathematics anxiety and expressive writing. Participants were randomly assigned to a treatment (PACs) or control group (No-PAC) and their dispositions about mathematics were examined using the Revised Mathematics Anxiety Rating Scale (MARS-R); which had a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.96 and an expressive writing task before and after the intervention. This study examined whether students were reaching automaticity with single digit multiplication facts. A fourteen question interview was used to collect data. The first three questions asked the student basic information about themselves and their current math teacher. The next seven questions were math facts. National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data reveal that students with disabilities who are emergent bilinguals (English language learners) have the lowest levels of profficiency in reading and mathematics among all student groups. We consider issues related to the instruction of emergent bilinguals, including those identified as having specific learning disabilities, using a Response to Intervention (RTI)/Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model. This applied dissertation was designed to evaluate the I-station adaptive reading program and determine its impact on reading proficiency of third-grade students. The school of study was a Title I school with proficiency rates for third-grade students of about 40% annually. การพัฒนารูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้การตัดสินใจทางคลินิกด้านการพยาบาลสูติศาสตร์ ของนักศึกษาพยาบาล โดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์มัลติมีเดียปฏิสัมพันธ์, ปาริชาติ สุขสวัสดิพร

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) พัฒนารูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้การตัดสินใจทางคลินิกด้านการพยาบาลสูติศาสตร์โดยใช้คอมพิวเตอร์มัลติมีเดียปฏิสัมพันธ์ 2) ประเมินคุณภาพของรูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้ฯ ที่พัฒนาขึ้น และ 3) ศึกษาผลการประเมินการตัดสินใจทางคลินิกของนักศึกษาพยาบาลโดยใช้รูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้ฯ ที่พัฒนาขึ้น ตัวอย่างในการวิจัย ได้แก่ นักศึกษาพยาบาลชั้นปีที่ 4 ที่เสร็จสิ้นการเรียนวิชาปฏิบัติการพยาบาลมารดาทารกและการผดุงครรภ์ที่มีภาวะผิดปกติแล้ว จำนวน 168 คน และอาจารย์นิเทศรายวิชานี้ จำนวน 12 คน เครื่องมือในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แบบวัดการตัดสินใจทางคลินิก และแบบประเมินคุณภาพรูปแบบการประเมินฯ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้โปรแกรม SPSS, IRTPRO และ LISREL ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1. รูปแบบการประเมินฯ ที่พัฒนาขึ้น เป็นการเรียนรู้ในระบบออนไลน์ ประกอบด้วย 1) การประเมินโดยใช้แบบวัดมัลติมีเดียของสถานการณ์ทางคลินิกด้านการพยาบาลสูติศาสตร์ที่ครอบคลุมระยะตั้งครรภ์ ระยะคลอด และระยะหลังคลอด ประกอบด้วยแบบทดสอบเลือกตอบหลายตัวเลือกและมาตรประมาณค่าเพื่อวัดตัวบ่งชี้ 11 ตัวของการตัดสินใจทางคลินิก โดยแบบทดสอบเลือกตอบหลายตัวเลือกข้อความใช้วัดตัวบ่งชี้ที่ 1-6 ได้แก่ การสังเกตจุดเน้น การจำแนกสิ่งผิดปกติ การแสวงหาข้อมูล การจัดลำดับความสำคัญของข้อมูล การสรุปประเด็นปัญหา และการวางแผนการปฏิบัติ ใช้แบบทดสอบวิดีโอเลือกตอบหลายตัวเลือกวัดตัวบ่งชี้ที่ 7-9 ได้แก่ ทักษะการปฏิบัติ การสื่อสาร และพฤติกรรมการแสดงออกอย่างมีความมั่นใจ และการประเมินตนเองด้วยมาตรประมาณค่าเพื่อวัดตัวบ่งชี้ที่ 10-11 ได้แก่ การวิเคราะห์และประเมินตนเอง และความมุ่งมั่นปรับปรุงตนเอง 2) การประมวลผลคะแนนและวิเคราะห์ผลประเมินตามเกณฑ์ระหว่างเรียนรู้และเมื่อสิ้นสุดการเรียนรู้ และ 3) การให้ข้อมูลย้อนกลับทันทีเพื่อให้ผู้เรียนปรับปรุงข้อบกพร่องและเรียนรู้จนกว่าจะผ่านเกณฑ์มาตรฐาน 2. รูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้การตัดสินใจทางคลินิก ตามมาตรฐานการประเมินมีคุณภาพโดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด (M=4.78, SD=0.17) โดยทุกด้านมีคุณภาพในระดับมากที่สุด โดยด้านความถูกต้องครอบคลุมมีคุณภาพในระดับมากที่สุด (M=4.85, SD=0.21) ส่วนด้านความเหมาะสมอยู่ในระดับน้อยที่สุด (M=4.69, SD=0.26) 3. ผลการประเมินการตัดสินใจทางคลินิกด้านการพยาบาลสูติศาสตร์โดยใช้รูปแบบการประเมินเพื่อการเรียนรู้การตัดสินใจทางคลินิก พบว่า นักศึกษากลุ่มทดลองและกลุ่มควบคุมมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยการตัดสินใจทางคลินิกโดยรวมแตกต่างกัน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 (t=5.29, sig.=.000) โดยกลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยมากกว่ากลุ่มควบคุม (M=24.52, 22.93; SD=1.65, 2.21 ตามลำดับ) องค์ประกอบที่มีความแตกต่างกันคือ ด้านการตั้งข้อสังเกตและด้านการตอบสนอง แต่ด้านการตีความและด้านการสะท้อนคิด ไม่มีความแตกต่างกัน
