A Self-Survey Of The Iowa State Teachers College, Iowa State Teachers College
A Self-Survey Of The Iowa State Teachers College, Iowa State Teachers College
History of Education Book Gallery
The Self-Survey Report of Iowa State Teachers College which is presented in these pages is the work of about one hundred members of the faculty whose names appear on a separate sheet. Because the completed reports of the various committees were in some instances longer than seemed necessary, some condensations and omissions were suggested by Dr. Leo Goggin, who read the entire manuscript before it was mimeographed, and by the undersigned. It is hoped that the making of these changes has not resulted in the omission of material which should have been included or in distortion of the report of …

Some Factors Relating The Success Of Richmond College Students To Their High School Preparation, William Mclean Trausneck
Master's Theses
This study is undertaken to reveal the answers to some of the many problems confronting educators in both secondary schools and colleges. Two classes entering Richmond College have been selected for a detailed analysis of their members over a two year period. The Freshman Class entering in the session 1938-1939 was selected to represent the pre-war period for it was felt that their first two years were completed before the pressure of the war could distort the academic picture. The Freshman Class entering in the session 1949-1949 was selected as representative of college entrants in normal times since the close …

Universities In Australia., Eric Ashby

[p.5, ed]
This essay deals with the problems which Australian universities face. [p.6, ed]

Adult Education In Post-War Australia, Colin Robert Badger
Adult Education In Post-War Australia, Colin Robert Badger
Future of Education
It cannot be denied that we will need more and more adult education in post-war Australia. There are many encouraging signs that the people of Australia are becoming aware of the deficiencies of their educational systems, and that reform and reconstruction, long overdue, will be bought about by the steady pressure of public opinion. There is a strong demand for a general raising of the school leaving age, for revised and better curricula, for better professional training for teachers, and for far more liberal provision of school buildings and equipment. And there is, fortunately, an increasingly strong demand for adult …

A Comparative Study Of The Relative Achievement Of The Training School & Non-Training School Pupils, Ruth Borders
Masters Theses & Specialist Projects
The writer, having been employed as a critic or supervising teacher in a city training school, has a personal interest in student teaching and student teachers. Frequently patrons voice their opinions concerning the work done in the training school. While many parents are well pleased with the results of student teaching, there are some who believe that the type of work given in the training school is inferior to that done in the public schools.
The major purpose of this study is to endeavor to answer, to some extent, a few of the many questions, arising from day to day, …
