The healthcare profession has been experiencing dramatic change due to healthcare reform and there continues to be significant challenges on the horizon for healthcare leaders. Healthcare leaders will be facing challenges such as a large number of the work force reaching the age of retirement, a decrease in people entering into the healthcare profession, and a 22-28% increase in demand for healthcare services through 2020. Existing and future healthcare leaders will need to poses a high level of knowledge and skill in healthcare delivery in order to meet these challenges.
