Women in higher education fundraising navigate the broad forces of sexism and racism in society and their profession, a profession in which they are being paid less than their male counterparts and are under-represented in leadership roles, despite being the majority of fundraising professionals. This study provided a platform for women in higher education fundraising to tell their stories and to explain, in their own words, how they navigated a traditionally White patriarchal system of philanthropy, interacted with fundraising prospects and donors, and experienced the fundraising profession. While Black women have etched a place for themselves as leaders within colleges and universities, few have advanced to the most senior levels of postsecondary administration and they remain underrepresented in those type of roles (Gamble & Turner, 2015; Jackson & Harris, 2007; West, 2015). The researcher focused on the principal behavior dimensions that principals exhibited in interactions with staff members and the relationship those behaviors had on teachers’ sense of self-efficacy in rural schools. In this study, the researcher surveyed 96 rural elementary school teachers in a southeastern state to examine the relationship between the principal behavior dimensions using the Organizational Climate Description Questionnaire-Revised for Elementary Schools and teachers’ sense of self-efficacy using the Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale. Boredom Proneness And Character Strengths Related To Academic Achievement In Adolescence, Bonnie Iannaccone

Abstract

Susceptibility to boredom can interfere with students’ ability to achieve their academic potential, with enduring negative consequences. In the present study, the researcher investigated differences in boredom proneness and character strengths in adolescent high school students and the ability of boredom proneness scores and character strengths to predict academic achievement. Results indicated that 9 of 10 students were moderately or highly prone to boredom. Students’ whose top character strength was humility were more highly prone to boredom than students’ whose top-ranked character strengths were bravery, prudence, or curiosity. STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education has become a panacea for many woes in our country’s educational and economic systems. Each year schools struggle with judiciously allocating their limited funds to various STEM programs in hopes that they may reap academic returns. This study examined the effect of a STEM certification from the AdvancED educational accreditation organization on elementary student achievement. The researcher analyzed extant student achievement data from twenty Georgia elementary schools that earned the AdvancED STEM certification to investigate any statistically significant difference between pre-certification and post-certification scores. The research investigates the question: How do teachers believe the Jordanian education system should change in order to best meet the needs of all students given the recent influx of Syrian refugees? The researcher interviewed seven teachers in Amman and Madaba, Jordan to gather qualitative data on their perspectives on the current Jordanian education system. Educators interviewed represented a vary of different school populations, grade levels, environments, resources and subject areas. Teachers interviewed and material culture demonstrated that the current education system is in need of multifaceted reform. “You’Re Not Like Everyone Else”: Sexual Orientation Microaggressions At A Catholic University, Bryce E. Hughes

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer students at Catholic colleges and universities face a campus climate rife with sexual orientation microaggressions, subtle or covert expressions of hostility the impact from which can compound over time. In this case study, I draw from interviews with 14 students, 12 faculty, and 6 staff members from one Catholic university their experiences with microaggressions. Participants indicated that sexual orientation microaggressions were common on their campus, like other colleges and universities, and the university did not have a systematic method for addressing this problem. In 2004 the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges, (SACSCOC) started requiring a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as part of the decennial reaffirmation process. Since 2004, over one billion dollars have been spent by the 794 accredited SACSCOC institutions completing their QEPs. Fifth-Year Impact Reports must be completed by the institution at the end of the QEP as part of the Fifth-Year Compliance Report. Once that report is accepted by SACSCOC, no additional reporting on the QEP is required. This study looked at six Track A, Level I institutions in five states that started a QEP …

This study examined the perceptions held by parents living in the urbanized area of Rapid City, South Dakota, to determine if artificial barriers to joining 4-H PYD programs existed. Through snowball sampling methods, nine participants were recruited to engage in semi-structured interviews. Transcripts from the interviews were coded utilizing in vivo and axial coding methods. Four themes emerged from the interviews: characteristics of youth development programs, program promotion through school flyers, barriers to joining youth development programs, and 4-H and its connection to agriculture. Both economies have taken important steps to integrate regionally with agreements that include, but are not limited to, services and human resources. Unlike public universities, private universities are not bound by the First Amendment when regulating students’ on-campus speech. This has provided administrators at private universities with great leeway in putting restrictions on student demonstrations. This article starts out with a case analysis of Loyola University Chicago, where the demonstration policy was loosened after pressure from the university community. This example frames the research questions of this study, analyzing the prevalence and nature of demonstration policies at private universities. This essay explores how the emerging field of coaching might speak to this time. Drawing from the practices and standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the coaching literature, and communication ethics scholarship, this essay frames a uniquely communicative approach to coaching practice. This study aims to describe the development of crisis communication as a subfield of Communication Studies, through an analysis of data taken from journal publications. By tracing the origins of crisis communication, this study identifies some of the primary forces that have influenced its development. Next, the results of an analysis of crisis communication articles drawn from twelve periodicals over nineteen years within the larger communication discipline are offered. The results suggest that Journal of Applied Communication Research has been the most common outlet for this subdiscipline, human subjects data accounts for less than half of the published research, and …

This thesis project details a mentoring model developed for the Hoopa Valley Tribe to improve the academic performance of Native American students. The subject of academic performance of Native American students encompasses many issues and barriers. While the barriers are many, the Hoopa Tribal Learning Center could not examinate all of the barriers, therefore a mentoring program was designed to help students navigate through the barriers by providing culturally appropriate, structured mentoring support. One out of five women in college are victims of sexual assault. The uptick in cases being brought before the US Department of Education for the mishandling of sexual assault cases on college campuses raises a question about the adequacy of the training and support being received by Title IX Coordinators. This study was designed to determine whether Title IX Coordinators are receiving adequate support and sufficient training necessary to adhere to the federal mandates regarding sexual assault on campus, as well as how the Title IX Coordinators’ years of experience relate to the challenges they face.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชน และทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต 2) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชนตามแนวคิดทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต และ 3) เพื่อพัฒนานวัตกรรมการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชนตามแนวคิดทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต ใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ (Multi – phase Mixed Method Research) โดยใช้การวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพจากการสัมภาษณ์ และการประชุมกลุ่มย่อยแบบ Focus Group และการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณจากการประเมินความเป็นไปได้ การสำรวจสภาพ และการประเมินความเหมาะสม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบประเมินกรอบแนวคิดการวิจัย แบบสอบถาม แบบสัมภาษณ์ และแบบประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของนวัตกรรม ผู้ให้ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในการประเมินกรอบแนวคิด 5 คน ผู้บริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชน จำนวน 192 คน จากจำนวน 49 แห่ง ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิและผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในการประชุมกลุ่มย่อย 9 คน และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิและผู้ใช้นวัตกรรมในการประเมินนวัตกรรม จำนวน 17 คน สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ค่าดัชนี PNImodifed และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชน ประกอบด้วย 4 ด้าน ดังนี้ (1) การบริหารด้านการผลิตบัณฑิต (2) การบริหารด้านการวิจัย (3) การบริหารด้านการให้บริการทางวิชาการแก่สังคม และ (4) การบริหารด้านการทำนุบำรุงศิลปะและวัฒนธรรม และกรอบแนวคิดทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต ประกอบด้วย ทักษะหลัก 4 กลุ่ม ดังนี้ (1) ทักษะส่วนบุคคล (2) ทักษะด้านคน (3) ทักษะการประยุกต์ใช้ความรู้ และ (4) ทักษะที่ใช้ในการทำงาน มีองค์ประกอบทักษะ 18 ทักษะ 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชนตามแนวคิดทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต พบว่า ด้านการผลิตบัณฑิตเป็นด้านที่มีความต้องการจำเป็นสูงที่สุด และในการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชนทุกด้าน มีทักษะที่ใช้ในการทำงานเป็นความต้องการจำเป็นสูงสุด 3) นวัตกรรมการบริหารสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชนตามแนวคิดทักษะการทำงานในอนาคต คือ …

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดรูปแบบการพัฒนาผู้บริหารโรงเรียนและแนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ 2) ศึกษาความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาผู้บริหารโรงเรียนตามแนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ และ 3) เพื่อพัฒนารูปแบบการพัฒนาผู้บริหารโรงเรียนตามแนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงปริมาณและเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ ผู้อำนวยการหรือรองผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนสังกัดสำนักงานคณะกรรมการการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน จำนวน 415 คน โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย แบบประเมินกรอบความคิด แบบประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของรูปแบบ แบบประเมินความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาผู้บริหารโรงเรียนตามแนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ ด้วยการใช้สถิติเชิงบรรยาย ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น (PNI) และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาและสร้างข้อสรุป ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1. กรอบแนวคิดรูปแบบการพัฒนาผู้บริหารประกอบด้วย 2 รูปแบบ คือ รูปแบบการพัฒนาตามแนวราบและรูปแบบการพัฒนาตามแนวดิ่ง และ แนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้จำนวน 8 องค์ประกอบ คือ โรงเรียนที่มี 1) การสร้างวิสัยทัศน์ของโรงเรียนร่วมกัน 2) การรับฟังซึ่งกันและกัน สร้างความเป็นกัลยาณมิตรระหว่างผู้บริหาร ครู และผู้เรียน 3) การสร้างความเป็นเพื่อนร่วมงานและชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ทางวิชาชีพ (PLC) ให้กับครู 4) การสร้างครูและผู้เรียนให้ใฝ่เรียนรู้และสนับสนุนให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต 5) การสนับสนุนให้ครูและผู้เรียนมีการทำงานร่วมกันแบบร่วมมือรวมพลังและเป็นประชาธิปไตย 6) การจัดสภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้อให้เกิดการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันของครูและผู้เรียน 7) การส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนให้เกิดคุณภาพการศึกษาแก่ผู้เรียนและครู และ 8) การเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ของโรงเรียนทำให้โรงเรียนเป็นพื้นที่สำหรับชุมชน 2. ความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาผู้บริหารโรงเรียนตามแนวดิ่งด้านการคิดและการปฏิบัติในการบริหารโรงเรียนตามการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลก และวิเคราะห์สังเคราะห์เชิงระบบในการแสวงหาทางเลือกใหม่ มีค่าสูงที่สุด ซึ่งเลือกพัฒนา 3 องค์ประกอบที่มีความต้องการจำเป็นสูงกว่าค่าเฉลี่ยขององค์ประกอบทั้งหมด ได้แก่ (1) การสร้างวิสัยทัศน์ของโรงเรียนร่วมกัน (2) การรับฟังซึ่งกันและกัน และสร้างความเป็นกัลยาณมิตรระหว่างผู้บริหาร ครู และผู้เรียน และ (3) การสร้างความเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้ทางวิชาชีพ (PLC) 3. รูปแบบที่พัฒนาขึ้นมีชื่อว่า "รูปแบบการพัฒนาแนวดิ่งเพื่อสร้างผู้นำแห่งอนาคตในการพัฒนาโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้" ซึ่งเน้นการพัฒนาตนเองด้านการคิดและการปฏิบัติในการบริหารโรงเรียนตามการเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลก และวิเคราะห์สังเคราะห์เชิงระบบในการแสวงหาทางเลือกใหม่ตามแนวคิดโรงเรียนเป็นชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดของการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาและกรอบแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 2) วิเคราะห์จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และภาวะคุกคามของการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 และ 3) พัฒนากลยุทธ์การบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ (Multiphase Mixed Method Research) เก็บข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณ (Quantitative Data Collect) ร่วมกับการเก็บข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Data Collection) กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ โรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาที่มีการเปิดการสอนในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1-6 จำนวน 353 โรงเรียนทั่วประเทศ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบประเมินความเหมาะสมของกรอบแนวคิดการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษา และกรอบแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ในการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 และแบบประเมินความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของร่างกลยุทธ์การบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณด้วยสถิติเชิงบรรยาย คือ ร้อยละ ความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และค่าดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น (PNImodified) วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพด้วยการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. กรอบแนวคิดการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษา ประกอบด้วย การพัฒนาหลักสูตร การจัดการเรียนการสอน และการวัดและประเมินผล กรอบแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 ประกอบด้วย คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมือง 4 ด้าน คือ 1) คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองดี 2) คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลก 3) คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองดิจิทัล และ 4) คุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองตามหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง 2. จุดแข็ง จุดอ่อน โอกาส และภาวะคุกคามของการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ 21 พบว่า การบริหารงานวิชาการ จุดแข็งคือการกำหนดจุดมุ่งหมายหลักสูตร การจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนาผู้เรียน และการวัดและประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ จุดอ่อนคือ การกำหนดคุณลักษณะอันพึงประสงค์ และการจัดการเรียนการสอน 8 กลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้ เมื่อพิจารณาคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพพบว่า จุดแข็งคือการบริหารวิชาการด้านคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองดีและคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองตามหลักปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง จุดอ่อนคือการบริหารวิชาการด้านคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองดิจิทัลและคุณลักษณะความเป็นพลเมืองโลก โอกาสคือเทคโนโลยี และการเมืองและนโยบายของรัฐ ภาวะคุกคามคือ สภาพเศรษฐกิจและสังคม 3. กลยุทธ์หลักการบริหารงานวิชาการโรงเรียนเอกชนระดับประถมศึกษาตามแนวคิดคุณลักษณะพลเมืองคุณภาพในศตวรรษที่ …

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) ศึกษากรอบแนวคิดของการบริหารโรงเรียน และแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิต 2) ศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตนักเรียนประถมศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก และ 3) พัฒนากลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตนักเรียนประถมศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก โดยใช้การวิจัยแบบผสมวิธีพหุระยะ ผู้ให้ข้อมูล คือ ผู้บริหารโรงเรียน หัวหน้าฝ่ายวิชาการ และผู้ปกครองนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 1-6 ในโรงเรียนเอกชนที่ตั้งในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก ได้แก่ จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา จังหวัดชลบุรี และจังหวัดระยอง จำนวน 438 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่แบบประเมินกรอบแนวคิด และแบบสอบถาม โดยใช้สถิติในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า (1) กรอบแนวคิดประกอบด้วย 2 องค์ประกอบหลัก ดังนี้ 1) การบริหารโรงเรียนเพื่อพัฒนาผู้เรียน ประกอบด้วย การพัฒนาหลักสูตร การจัดการเรียนการสอน การวัดผลและประเมินผล และงานกิจการนักเรียน 2) การพัฒนาทักษะชีวิต ประกอบด้วย ด้านจิตใจ (Heart) ด้านสมอง (Head) ด้านการปฏิบัติการ (Hands) และด้านสุขภาพ (Health) (2) สภาพปัจจุบันของการบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตนักเรียนประถมศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก พบว่า ด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตร มีการปฏิบัติสูงที่สุด ในการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตด้านจิตใจเรื่องการมีสัมพันธภาพกับผู้อื่น ในขณะที่ด้านการวัดผลและประเมินผล มีการปฏิบัติน้อยที่สุดในการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตด้านสมองเรื่องการคิด ส่วนสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ของการบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตนักเรียนประถมศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก พบว่า ด้านการพัฒนาหลักสูตรมีความต้องการสูงที่สุดในการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตด้านสุขภาพเรื่องสุขภาพจิต ในขณะที่ด้านงานกิจการนักเรียนมีความต้องการน้อยที่สุด ในการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตด้านสมองเรื่องการจัดการ (3) กลยุทธ์การบริหารโรงเรียนเอกชนตามแนวคิดการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตนักเรียนประถมศึกษาในเขตพื้นที่ระเบียงเศรษฐกิจพิเศษภาคตะวันออก ประกอบด้วย 4 กลยุทธ์หลัก คือ กลยุทธ์หลักที่ 1 พัฒนาหลักสูตรเสริมสร้างทักษะชีวิตเยาวชน EEC: กล้าคิดกล้าทำ สุขภาพจิตดี มีน้ำใจเอื้ออาทร กลยุทธ์หลักที่ 2. ยกระดับคุณภาพการจัดการเรียนการสอนเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะชีวิตเยาวชน EEC: กล้าคิด สุขภาพแข็งแรง กล้าทำ มีน้ำใจเอื้ออาทร กลยุทธ์หลักที่ 3 เร่งพัฒนารูปแบบการวัดผลและประเมินผลนักเรียนโดยเน้นการเสริมสร้างทักษะชีวิตเยาวชน EEC : กล้าคิด กล้าทำ สัมพันธภาพดี …

Using a qualitative methodology, the researcher studied the factors students consider in the decision making process for graduate education. Through conducting two focus groups that contained a total of thirteen participants, the researcher identified the factors that were the most significant to their decision making during the decision making process for pursuing graduate education, applying to institutions, and the selection and enrollment at their institution. The researcher also identified reasons affecting the students' decision of when to pursue graduate education and how their undergraduate experience impacted the decision making process.

This study examined partnerships between campus police and student affairs. The study specifically analyzed the essential elements, benefits, and best practices and programs of partnerships between campus police and student affairs. Participants were a Chief of Police and Chief Student Affairs Officer from large public research one institutions in the Northeast and Southwest. Participants were selected by evidence of a strong partnership between campus police and student affairs on their campus. Data was collected from four one-on-one semi-structured phone interviews. Findings suggest partnerships between campus police and student affairs are beneficial to creating a successful educational environment for students.

The code of conduct process at small institutions can be difficult to manage. The purpose of the study, using a qualitative approach, was to research residents' and Conduct Officers' perception of the resident housing code of conduct process at a small private institution. Research participants included three residents who participated in the conduct process and three Conduct Officers who were involved in the hearings. In this case, a high school vice-principal encounters tension and anger when she rewrites a staff member’s report card comments without his knowledge.
