This dissertation is an exploration of strategies that optimize nursing student retention. While college students experience a degree of personal and social challenges toward degree completion, nursing students experience higher incidences of attrition due to the academic rigors, clinical scheduling, and high stresses of nursing programs. While few institutional contributions can address personal and social issues impacting retention, nursing programs have a unique opportunity to develop interventions to strengthen social connections to the academic institution and facilitate early connections to the profession. This capstone project analyzes a specific student population, the community college student, and how career services can impact their experience while in college. It examines online career services that prepare students for their job search while also increasing the office of career service’s presence on campus. Information gathered from the Career Services Coordinator (CSC) was used to determine what specific tools and strategy will support student’s efforts and maximize the CSC’s time. Examining The Lived Experiences Of Native American Students At Predominantly White Institutions, Zachary Palmer

This qualitative research study sought to examine the lived experiences and sense of belonging of Native American students at a predominantly white institution. Three participants were each interviewed twice for data collection purposes. Findings from data analysis process indicated that establishing and maintaining relationships within the campus community facilitated a sense of belonging and that racial microaggression were present in the campus environment which often made participants feel hesitant to reveal their Native American identity. Recommendations are offered for higher education professionals and areas for future research are noted.

Demand for international K-12 schools in India is growing, and this is causing competition between them. The purpose of this paper was to explore the branding strategies that private international school leaders in India use to enhance the school brand. Case study method was used where fifteen participants were interviewed from an international school in Southern part of India. Interviews were conducted with five school leaders, five teachers, and five parents using a semi-structured interview method with open-ended questions related to branding strategies. It could be argued that one of the most segregated settings on a college campus today can be found amongst the sprawling mansions that line a university’s Fraternity and Sorority Row. While many Black students join Black Greek-letter organizations (“BGLOs”), a small number decide to rush and pledge White Greek-letter organizations (“WGLOs”). According to Matthew Hughey, a professor at the University of Connecticut who studies race in Greek life, only 3 to 4 percent of members of WGLOs are nonwhite (Hughey, 2007).

Historically, many WGLOs’ constitutions and policies included official “race clauses” that banned non-White students from membership; those clauses …

Purpose: The purpose of this descriptive, qualitative study was to identify and describe the importance of the predictors of juvenile recidivism and the effectiveness of efforts to prevent/avoid juvenile recidivism as perceived by previously detained, arrested, convicted, and/or incarcerated adult students 18 years of age and older exiting from alternative education in Northern California. A second purpose was to explore the types of support provided by alternative schools and the perceived importance of the support to avoid recidivism according to adult students 18 years of age and older exiting from alternative education.

Purpose: This correlation study determined the relationship between the level of servant-leadership practices of department chairs perceived by their foreign language teachers and the level of those same teachers’ job satisfaction within the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) in Monterey, CA.

Methodology: The study employed a quantitative method using descriptive and inferential statistical tests to answer the research questions. The sample population included 165 foreign language classroom teachers within the undergraduate basic language training at the DLIFLC. The study aims to identify the degree of administrative and educational performance of sports’ teachers in Aloof province, Saudi Arabia. It also aims to figure out the presence of statistically significant differences according to the province’s cities variable. To realize these targets, the researcher designed a questionnaire including 38 terms. These terms were applied to a sample of seventy-nine head teachers and supervisors in Aljouf province.
