The State of Louisiana Executive Order No. KBB 2005-49 is a two page document created on September 23, 2005 by the Executive Department of the State of Louisiana to formally make lawful the relocation of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.

This executive order was necessary due to the impact of Hurricane Katrina and the physical inaccessibility of the New Orleans campuses.

This study examined the relationship between the condition of school building conditions and the achievenh:>11 l on the Indiana Statewide Test for Educational Progress. Selected high schools from the state of Indiana with various enrollments and socio-economic factors were used in this study. Building condition scores were determined by the Commonwealth Assessment of Physical Environment which was completed by building level Principals of 50 s0.lected high schools from a possible sample of 244. Not In Our Name: Reclaiming The Democratic Vision Of Small School Reform, Michelle Fine

Maybe we weren’t clear. The small schools movement was never simply about size. When committed educators and community activists in New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Oakland, Boston, and Cincinnati launched the movement, they were desperately seeking alternatives to the failures of big city high schools. They fashioned a vibrant, gutsy social movement for creating democratic, warm, and intellectually provocative schools, particularly for poor and working-class youth of color.
