“AGUA” is a call for new models of learning and sharing, celebrating the diasporic as a place of global revolution. Salsa, rooted in Latin American and Afro-Caribbean histories, is choreographer Cory Villegas’s expression of cultural legacy. As an Afro-diasporic dance, Salsa carries the wealth and variety of African and Indigenous roots. Villegas contextualizes her thesis event “Las Leyendas: An Afro Cuban Suite,” presenting herself and her troupe Soul Dance Co. as evidence that contradicts the erasure of Latin & Caribbean Culture in US dance history. The paper uses English and Spanish, written, visual, and oral materials with an accompanying webpage.

This study aims to document and investigate kindergarten students’ cultural and social practices relative to the intra-active relationships they encounter when they engage in a tactile experience using clay. This study investigates the influence of specific frameworks in performance and vocal pedagogy on artists' capacity to enact evidence-based learning outcomes, with emphasis on vocal physiology and educator-performer relationships. Employing an experimental design, five philosophies that support capacity-building were tested across two trial settings, varying in intensity. The participant utilized narrative reasoning, diversified methods, and mentorship from specialized educators to apply frameworks. Findings indicate that, in practicing evidence-based learning and maximizing anatomic foundations of the voice, substantial developments in artistic capacity ensued. Educator-performer relationships mediate this process through reciprocal collaborations that foster capacity-building. Performers display optimal artistic capacity by effectively …

For my honors capstone project, I taught a 3-week unit to my Art III class at a suburban high school in Nebraska. This unit covered concepts such as color theory, composition, and how to create the illusion of depth within a piece of art. This unit ended with the students creating a 24x30 in. painting of a space that was personal to them. In the Latino community, faith serves as a social movement of resistance against oppression, playing a vital role in migration. The primary objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive account of the German cultural components found within German language textbooks used in Indonesian universities. Through Saffron Dreams, Abdullah attempts to put up a fight against the negative stereotypes of Orientalists toward Muslim women. It is shown based on how the main protagonist is portrayed as a Muslim Pakistani-American woman who lost her husband in 9/11, experiencing mistreatment from her host land society due to the spreading negative stereotypes of Muslim women.
