The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of using Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach in Arabic Language Research Method Class. It uses a quasi-experimental (pre- experimental design). The result shows that generally using PBL is effective in both aspects of the learning process and the learning outcomes. The specific findings in this research is that the using PBL is not effective for students in the lower class category both from the aspect of competence, learning attitude, willingness to learn, learn discipline, and activeness in class.

EFL learners with diverse cultural backgrounds need a motivating environment with agents that can co-construct experiences for optimum learning. Its meaning depends on the point of view taken. As a part of critical thought, there are several points of view selected to find the meaning of the lingga-yoni artifact, they are anthropological, formal-structural, mythological, philosophical, and positivistic. From the positivistic point of view, lingga-yoni artifact might be assessed as the basis of probability and causal laws viewed from the relevant construct of positivistic thoughts.

This study aimed to assess the impact of explicit morphology instruction on Saudi EFL students’ morphological awareness and vocabulary knowledge. The experimental group received for six weeks in their English class morphological lessons that focused on the basic analytical and synthetic word formation rules to increase students’ morphological awareness and help in improving their vocabulary knowledge. This research examines concordance errors in grammatical syntax found in Arabic phrases conducted as a case study on the written texts produced by Arabic of IAIN Salatiga’s students. The qualitative approach is used to identify the types of errors. The sources of data in this study arethe students’ thesis proposals, IndonesianArabic translations, and Arabic-free compositions. The analytical method used is error analysis. The study found 19 types of errors which comprise of four phrase structures, namely the head-modifiers, modifier-head, head-head, and the head-apposition in gender, number, and definiteness categories.

This quasi experimental study aims to investigate how written retelling technique affects the reading comprehension of university students having different personality learning styles (introverted vs. extroverted). A reading comprehension test and a questionnaire were utilized to collect the data. Two groups of students were involved in the study, with the experimental group receiving the treatment of being taught using a written retelling technique and the control group being taught using the oral retelling technique. Three teachers and three students were involved as research participants in this study and they were intensively interviewed to get valid and reliable data regarding their understanding of formative assessment and the follow up actions they took after implementing formative assessment. The construction of VDn is a verb derived from nouns, such as mengecat, menyekolahkan, berpakaian, bersepeda. This research utilizes observation in collecting the data and distributional method in analyzing the data. The Data sources are sentences on the use of bI either orally or in writing. This research shows that the VDn constructions, morphologically, are composed of derivational affixes and nouns. This post-qualitative inquiry project investigated subjectivity (sense of self) among graduates of creative writing Master of Fine Arts (MFA) programs. The project asked how subjectivity is involved in the creative writing process and how that process fuels further writing after a creative piece (such as the MFA thesis) is completed. A post-qualitative, thinking-with-theory approach was used to explore the role of subjectivity among four anonymous graduates of creative writing MFA programs who provided writing samples describing their creative writing processes.
