Characterized by recurrent hospitalizations, heart failure significantly contributes to morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs in the United States and worldwide. Because malnutrition is prevalent in the heart failure population, healthcare providers must perform nutritional assessments on admission to intervene in the case of malnutrition, prevent deterioration, and improve patient prognosis. Procrastination has long been recognized as an important topic in higher education, and various tools for measuring procrastination have focused on either behavioral or subjective components of the phenomenon. This study examines how online assignment submission delay, used as an objective measure of procrastination, relates to several conceptualizations of procrastination and pacing style measured through self-report questionnaires. The purpose of this dissertation was to test the extended theoretical model of communal coping (T. Afifi et al., 2020) in a graduate student sample by exploring predictors and outcomes of communal coping processes among 554 graduate students. The extended theoretical model of communal coping specifies that communal coping occurs when individuals within a community—such as graduate students within an academic program—perceive stressors as shared and are willing to take joint action to overcome those stressors. Results of this dissertation provided evidence that graduate students’ academic stress and the severity of individual academic stressors negatively impacted their psychological well-being. The …

This qualitative study explored the experiences of African Americans as they pursued and transitioned into senior administrative roles at four-year predominantly white institutions (PWIs). Insights were drawn from eight participants who held or had held positions such as president, vice president, provost, assistant vice president/provost, and dean.

From in-depth interviews with participants, their experiences were categorized into the overarching themes of career navigation, racial adversity, professional development, and voices of experience, all of which were deeply interconnected through their respective subthemes. According to the Government Accountability Office (2018), collegiate aviation schools face two primary challenges: flight instructor retention and the high cost of pilot training. In a study of collegiate aviation programs, 16 of the 18 schools reported difficulty in recruiting and retaining certified flight instructors (CFI), leading to the inability to accept all students who applied to the programs. Furthermore, these programs attributed the high instructor turnover to the increased demand for commercial pilots at the airlines, a challenge that is not expected to decrease in the near future (Boeing, 2023). การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) ศึกษาสมรรถนะหลักของครูในปัจจุบัน และสมรรถนะหลักของครูที่ควรได้รับการพัฒนา 2) พัฒนาการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อเสริมสร้างสมรรถนะหลักของครู และ 3) ศึกษาผลการจัดกิจกรรมและข้อเสนอแนะในการจัดกิจกรรมการศึกษานอกระบบแบบมีส่วนร่วมเพื่อเสริมสร้างสมรรถนะหลักของครู การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการแบบมีส่วนร่วม กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ ผู้บริหารและครูโรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาของรัฐแห่งหนึ่ง จำนวน 85 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย แบบสัมภาษณ์ แบบสนทนากลุ่ม แบบสอบถาม แผนกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้ แบบสังเกตและแบบประเมินความพึงพอใจ ผลการตรวจสอบความเที่ยงตรงเชิงเนื้อหา (Content Validity) โดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ พบว่าเครื่องมือวิจัยที่ใช้ในการวิจัย มีค่าดัชนีความสอดคล้อง (IOC) เท่ากับ 1.00 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน พร้อมทั้งใช้เทคนิคการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาเชิงพรรณนา ผลการวิจัยพบว่า สมรรถนะด้านการมุ่งผลสัมฤทธิ์ในการปฏิบัติงานและการทำงานเป็นทีมเป็นสมรรถนะที่สำคัญและจำเป็นต้องได้รับการพัฒนามากที่สุด จึงได้พัฒนากิจกรรมการเรียนรู้โดยบูรณาการสมรรถนะทั้งสองด้านผ่านโครงการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการเสริมสร้างสมรรถนะหลักการมุ่งผลสัมฤทธิ์ในการปฏิบัติงานด้วยกระบวนการทำงานเป็นทีม (Team Boost Excellence Initiative) ระยะเวลารวม 2 วัน (12 ชั่วโมง) โดยใช้กระบวนการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการแบบมีส่วนร่วม 4 ขั้นตอน ได้แก่ การวางแผน การปฏิบัติการ การสังเกต และการสะท้อนผล บูรณาการร่วมกับแนวคิดการเรียนรู้แบบมีส่วนร่วมและกระบวนการกลุ่ม ผลการจัดกิจกรรมพบว่าสามารถกระตุ้นพฤติกรรมที่พึงประสงค์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ผู้เข้าร่วมมีความพึงพอใจในระดับมากที่สุด (x̄ = 4.86, S.D. = 0.37) และสามารถนำความรู้ไปประยุกต์ใช้ในการปฏิบัติงานได้จริง โดยผู้บริหารโรงเรียนและครูผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมมีความคิดเห็นในเชิงบวก เสนอให้ขยายผลการจัดกิจกรรมทั้งในระดับโรงเรียน สร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือกับองค์กรภายนอก และเพิ่มระยะเวลาการจัดกิจกรรม นอกจากนี้ควรศึกษาปฏิทินกิจกรรมของโรงเรียน สร้างเครือข่ายบุคคลสำคัญ พัฒนาระบบติดตามผลระยะยาว และปรับปรุงระบบการสังเกตให้ครอบคลุมปัจจัยแวดล้อมต่าง ๆ นอกจากนี้ผู้วิจัยมีข้อเสนอแนะในการทำวิจัยครั้งต่อไป และข้อเสนอแนะทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้อง

While the benefits of study abroad experiences for pre-service teachers are well-documented, research specifically focusing on in-service teachers is limited. The study addresses this gap by exploring the experiences of 51 American teachers who participated in a short-term study abroad program in South Korea. This research investigates how the immersive learning experience impacted participants’ development of intercultural competence and their ability to create culturally responsive learning environments. The Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) staffing shortages in Long Term Care (LTC) facilities. To address these shortages, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) authorized LTC facilities to employ Temporary Nurse Aides (TNA). The American Health Care Association (AHCA) and the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) developed free online training for individuals which is much shorter than traditional nurse aide training and does not require hands-on skill training or a clinical practicum. : To date, studies exploring Muslim preservice teachers’ views on gender matters in education remain scant. We conducted a qualitative-quantitative survey with 45 Filipino Muslim preservice teachers, ten of whom participated in follow-up email interviews, to explore their perceptions towards integrating a gender perspective into education. The results indicate the participants’ progressive views on fluid gender norms, although they also share conflicting perspectives on gender roles that tend to reinforce gender stereotypes. The preservice teachers also report positive perceptions concerning their institutions’ commitment to gender sensitivity and gender mainstreaming in teacher-education curricula. This multilevel mixed methods investigation examines the experiences of developing self-evaluation skills for simulation fellows in an interprofessional simulation fellowship program. Interprofessional fellows (N = 12) and faculty (N = 4) engaged in a three-phase study using video-assisted learning tools to explore the differences in self-evaluation (perceived performance) and faculty evaluation (actual performance) in developing debriefing skills. For the quantitative component, fellows and faculty completed the DASH© tool to evaluate the quality of debriefing to help close the gaps between fellow self-evaluation and faculty evaluation.
