The Development Of Procedures For Adopted Policies In The Governance Manual Of The Camden County Educational Services Commission., Anthony R. Sorce
Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive
This Major Applied Research Project describes a process whereby policies and procedures were developed to correct and eliminate problems which resulted from the deficiency of certain policies in the Governance Manual of the Camden County Educational Services Commission of New Jersey in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
The present manual was developed in 1982 and was to be updated and/or revised by the Superintendent. However, due to the lack of expertise by the Superintendent and a uninvolved board of directors and instructional staff, procedures were never developed to implement those policies in the Governance Manual. The staff, facilities, …

Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive
This report describes a school improvement program for Sadler Elementary School. The school is located in a large urban area in central Florida and comprised of grades kindergarten through five. Some of the problems noted, which indicated a need for a school improvement plan, were: no noted school mission and goals, poor school climate, lack of teaching of basic skills, little parent/community/environment, and no teacher involvement in decision making.

An Investigation Into The Feasibility Of Incorporating Additional Specializations And Concentrations Into The Programs For Higher Education Curriculum Structure, William M. Kaye
Abraham S. Fischler College of Education ETD Archive
The last major curriculum change in the Programs for Higher Education (PHE) took place seven years ago when the specialization courses were incorporated into the summer institute. Since that time there have been significant changes in the higher education environment which have impacted on the vitality and marketability of the PHE programs. Changes in PHE student demographics have also contributed to an increasing concern about the lack of variety of courses in the academic program, as well issues such as the viability of introducing more specific fields of specialization and/or concentrations to the programs, the potential need for a more …

The Nontraditional Student At Ferris State University: Implications For Recruitment And Retention, Sharon K. Octernaud

Therefore, in a effort to maintain current enrollment levels, Ferris will need to recruit actively nontraditional students (students aged twenty-five and older).
The recognition of and adaptation to the changes in the Ferris student population are of utmost importance to the university if administrators and faculty are to assess successfully the effects of this population on the institution's academic programs and fiscal health. Prior to this study, no one at …
