At Northwest Wisconsin Technical Institute (NWTI), a need was identified to offer additional pre-service and continuing education courses designed to meet certification requirements of children care staff according to Wisconsin Rules for Day Care Centers for Children.
The purpose of the study was to develop an educational program for staff of child care centers. Two major activities to accomplish that goal included (1) writing a proposal for a post secondary education program and (2) coordinating and analyzing curriculum materials for the Secondary Child Care Worker 40 hour Course designed to meet the educational needs of first level staff employed in …

A Comprehensive Therapeutic Exercise Program For The Moderately-Disabled, Brain-Injured Person, Karl G. Knopf

The purpose of this study was to develop a series of learning activities relevant to the needs of the moderately-disabled, brain-injured individual who is involved in a secondary rehabilitation program. The major components which the learning activities addressed were balance, coordination, and flexibility.
The hypothesis of this study was that brain-injured persons who were engaged in the newly-designed learning activity program would develop a significantly greater level of: (1) static balance, (2) neuro-muscular coordination, and (3) flexibility than the group which did not experience such a program. This hypothesis was tested using an Analysis of Covariance to the .05 level …

It was the purpose of this study to plan a promotional strategy for the Library/Instructional Media Technology program at Cuyahoga Community College. This strategy consisted of developing a professional-looking brochure for the program, establishing distribution places for the brochure, and arranging for news releases and other publicity to complement the distribution of the brochure.
Procedures included the actual steps of developing a program brochure from inception to the finished product. A major consideration in writing copy for the brochure was a survey of students currently enrolled in the program. The primary purpose of the survey was to determine what types …

The purpose of this Practicum was to develop a guide for parttime teachers of adults aimed at providing basic information about the Northeast Wisconsin Vocational, Technical and Adult Education (NWVTAE) District and at orienting the teachers to the functions of instruction. Based on the review of literature, expressed and perceived needs of part-time teachers of adults, needs identified in the Self Study Report: Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute, and analyses of the "Teacher Improvement Form" and "The Instructor/Course Evaluation Form", an Instructor's Guide for Beginning Part-Time Teachers of Adults focusing on functions of instruction was developed. It was the purpose of this study to evaluate the effectiveness of small group instruction in remedial writing as compared to large group instruction for the same course at Cuyahoga Community College.
Data was gathered in the following manner: Under normal college policy, students who register for remedial writing, English 091, were in either small groups of six students or large groups of approximately 28 students. Two of the large groups were randomly selected to serve as experimental groups which receive d traditional classroom instruction. It was the purpose of this study to evaluate the newly adopted curriculum in Library/Instructional Media Technology at Cuyahoga Community College to determine if this course of study is meeting the needs of the students and community. A procedure was developed to identify the courses in the curriculum which are meeting these needs. An evaluation was then carried out.
This procedure consisted of serval steps in which a panel of experts developed a list of necessary entry-level job skills for successful employment as a library/instructional media technologist. this list of entry-level job skills was then compared to a list of …
