Kindergartners bring a lot of energy to a school. In order to help kindergartners adjust into the schooling process, teachers discover the best way to motivate the students. The purpose of the research was to examine methods of instruction in an art teacher's classroom, specifically art centers and large group instructiou, from kindergarten students' perspectives. Using qualitative research methods such as interviews and direct observations, an art teacher compared two instructional methods-art centers and whole group instruction in a kindergarten art room. The purpose of this research was to study adolescent participation in the development of a neighborhood mural as an art-based community project. I examined perceptions of the adolescents regarding the awareness of their community and neighborhoods. Additionally, I explored adolescents' perceptions of their own development in terms of building their self-confidence. Students with moderate to severe disabilities are often left out of arts programs, especially in rural areas where resources are limited and drama, music and art classes are often not available. This action research study focused on a small group of students in a self-contained classroom in a high school. When high school art teachers do not understand how their students experience creativity, studio art programs are less effective in fostering student learning than they would otherwise be. Nevertheless, extant research does not reveal a consistent or comprehensive understanding of how adolescents experience creativity in art education.
