JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 22, 2021) – Years before Dr. Andrew Dunn arrived on the campus of East Tennessee State University in fall 2010, the Florida-born and Alabama-raised transplant had already carved out a successful career.
Serving as a reporter at the Florida-based Tallahassee Democrat and The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida, Dunn wrote important stories about education and legislative politics.
Dunn, who earned a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Alabama, is now the chair of the Department of Media and Communication at ETSU, an appointment he received earlier this year.

The clinics will offer both primary doses and booster doses of the Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 vaccine. They are free and open to the public.

JOHNSON CITY – (Nov. 19, 2021) East Tennessee State University is one of just four public four-year colleges in the state that saw an increase in new students for the fall 2021 semester. While overall enrollment at ETSU is down approximately 3% from last fall, the number of new students choosing ETSU went up by 13 percent, President Brian Noland reported today to members of the Board of Trustees during their quarterly meeting in the D.P. Carroll Reece Museum have received $225,000 in funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Whitfield, who will graduate with his Master of Social Work in May 2022, would not have been able to attend ETSU if not for the late Dr. Angela Radford Lewis, an ETSU administrator who served as vice provost and special assistant to the president for strategic initiatives at ETSU before her death in 2019.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 1, 2021) — The Organization of Student Representatives (OSR) at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine is hosting the 2021 Quillen 5K Fun Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 13.
All proceeds will benefit the Willow Unit at Woodridge Hospital, which is a 12-bed unit offering inpatient psychiatric care to children and adolescents in a caring, comfortable environment. The unit serves children and teens ages 6 to 17 (and 18-year-olds meeting criteria who are current high school students).
