Home working has recently reemerged in both less-developed and developed countries. It is observed in both unskilled and highly skilled work. In general, there are no estimates of the number of women who bring work into their homes. Home working is part of the informal economy that is disguised and shadowed in the economy. Most of this type of employment is hidden in official statistics. In Turkey, for example the female informal labor force is about 68% (Kumbetoglu, 1993). Most of the work done by the women is piecework, and their earnings depend on the piece-rate.

An Empirical Analysis Of The Relationships Among Entrepreneurial Orientation, Organizational Culture And Firm Performance, Kenneth Herbert Chadwick

The objective of this dissertation was to empirically assess the entrepreneurial orientation (EO) to firm performance relationship and the potential influence of organizational culture (OC). Specifically, OC was examined as a potential predictor of the degree of EO and as a potential moderator of the EO to performance relationship. Firm performance was assessed with the weighted average performance scale and 1997 year ending return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE).

Thank you letter and program evaluations for a workshop, "Your Ticket to the Information Highway," sponsored by the Institute for Labor Studies and Research (ILSR). The workshop was held on November 15, 1996 in Providence, Rhode Island.
The purpose of the three-hour workshop was to “provide a basic understanding of the Internet, demonstrate labor-related sites, and give [participants] hands-on experience ‘surfing the Net.’” The workshop was one of a series of three intended to help participants become more effective union leaders. It received unanimously positive evaluations from the ten participants.

Organizational Culture: How Changes Impact Attitudes Toward Job Satisfaction, R. M. Browder

The purpose of the study was to examine how a shift in elements of organizational culture impacted attitudes toward job satisfaction in a medium-sized, consumer-owned electric utility over a period of 13 years. The unit of analysis was a municipal utility distributing electrical energy to approximately 27,000 customers. Data collection included the Science Research Associate Employee Inventory, a review of the organization's documents, and a subjective Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. A one-tailed z-test was performed to test whether or not the proportion of employees answering favorable in one survey was greater than the proportion answering favorable in the other survey. It …

The purpose of this paper was to explore the influence individual and organizational factors exerted on technological innovations, programmatic innovations and combined technological and programmatic innovations. Student affairs divisions in Comprehensive I colleges and universities constituted the administrative unit examined. The two types of program innovations examined were substance abuse prevention/education programs and retention/academic support programs. The technological innovations examined were financial aid computerized award calculation and computerized career counseling.
