Predictions are that blogs will be the promotional tool of the future, if not now. The question remains: how credible are blogs as a source of consumer information? How do consumers perceive the credibility of blogs from different sources when making purchase decisions and product evaluations? The primary objective of the present study is to assess validity and reliability of a set of Semantic Differential scales purported to measure perceived credibility of different types of blogs. What is the role of information technology (IT) in enabling the outsourcing of manufacturing plant production processes? Do plant strategies influence production outsourcing? Does production process outsourcing influence plant performance? This research addresses these questions by investigating the role of IT and plant strategies as antecedents of production outsourcing, and evaluating the impact of production outsourcing and IT investments on plant cost and quality. We develop a theoretical framework for the antecedents and performance outcomes of production outsourcing at the plant level. We validate this theoretical framework using cross-sectional survey data from U.S. manufacturing plants. Our analysis suggests that plants …

In recent years, many academic institutions have implemented more stringent academic qualification standards by increasing research requirements for faculty. This paper analyzes the impact of changing research requirements in terms of faculty research output. We model the academic research pipeline including review and revision processes as a queue network and study the stationary behavior of the research pipeline. Both a theoretical model of the publication process and a simulation showing numerous combinations of submission strategies and publication requirements are presented. Adaptation is almost invariably accompanies the cross-border transfer of firm specific practices. The existing literature contains two conflicting approaches to adaptation. The first, more traditional approach, following institutional, motivation, and pragmatic efficiency considerations, presumes that a modified practice can be fine-tuned, stabilized, and institutionalized without consulting a working example and that practices should thus be adapted as quickly as possible to create fit with the local environment. The second approach argues, instead for the need to maintain the diagnostic value of the original practice by adapting cautiously and gradually. This paper investigates what is happening in Ireland at the moment regards outsourcing. It
looks into the literature review and the survey conducted. The research took place over a period
of two years, initially as a literature review, and then the survey was conducted through the
mediums of e-mail and the postal service. The survey analysis found that Ireland was the most
likely place for Irish companies to outsource to, and that nearly 40 percent of the companies that
have been surveyed have started on their latest outsourcing initiative since 2004. This indicates

With the appropriate framework to shape financial knowledge, the management accounting function should become an organization's principal decision-support platform. The framework consists of six levels of financial knowledge, and the word "financial" is most operative here. The Level 1 knowledge base connects a business to the outside world. When you have output volume and variable cost per output unit, you have the basis for Level 2 vocabulary. When a business transitions to Level 3, it has learned that return on assets must be employed as the enterprise's guiding profitability gauge. The value of master's level business education has been previously studied primarily through cost/benefit analysis, generally confirming that MBAs make more money. This study addresses the large question of the value of business master's education by carving out a small area of interest. It looks at the relationship of individual differences to perceptions of organizational mobility, which is a precursor to voluntary turnover. Three research questions are investigated. The first question is the relationship of cognitive ability to perceived organizational mobility. Because of their large size, defined benefit pension plans are an important component of U.S. corporate finances and capital markets. The value of pension plans comprises a sizable portion of the sponsoring firm's assets and impacts the sponsoring firm's profitability and risk. Plan funding status has a direct impact on firm earnings. Corporate sponsors of overfunded plans may reduce or eliminate cash contributions to the plan, improving earnings. In contrast, underfunded plans require large expedited contributions that lower earnings. This study empirically examines how a firm's strategic orientation imparts its management of innovative activities. Drawing on the strategic management and innovation literatures, we develop and empirically test hypotheses arguing that a firm's strategic orientation will impact its perception of barriers to innovation, its sources of ideas for innovation, and its targets for innovation. The data, from over 244 firms, generally support the hypotheses. The study's findings suggest that a firm's strategic management and its management of innovation are highly integrated.

A preliminary survey among the Kenyan youth shows that a small but growing number of college graduates are choosing to venture into small-scale businesses on graduation. The researchers interviewed some youth entrepreneurs and found that their experiences in college may have positively influenced their attitudes towards entrepreneurship. This research aims at exploring the link between the experience in colleges and the intentions towards entrepreneurship among college graduates. The review of the Recreational Marron Fishery is now complete and I would like to thank all members of the RFAC Recreational Freshwater Fisheries Stakeholder Sub-Committee (RFFSS) for their efforts in what has been a challenging task. I would also like to thank those members of the community who made submissions on the draft discussion paper.

After careful consideration of the Recreational Freshwater Fisheries Stakeholder Sub-Committee’s recommendations and the wide range of issues raised in submissions, I have made my decisions in respect to the future management arrangements for recreational marron fishing.
