Intensified competitive, technological, and market pressures have made organizational learning a critical imperative in global strategy effectiveness. Firms can learn through experience and from three processes that involve other firms: imitation, grafting, and synergism. Interpartner learning has become critical, since experiential learning is insufficient for most firms. Responds to calls for a broadened role of marketing and synthesizes and extends research from organization behaviour and strategic management to the field of marketing to fuel further academic inquiry. This paper examines the main source of inflationary pressures, and established the source of destabilization of the exchange and interest rates as the Budget deficit which has been increasing at an unsustainable pace since 1990. It also ascertain that stabilizing the economy will require a significant and sustained budget surplus with no additional domestic bank borrowing. It states that economy stabilization will also require a liberalization of foreign exchange and credit markets.

The purpose of this study was to forecast what the competitive retail environment will resemble in the grocery industry in the year 2010, what measures a company must take to prepare to compete in the predicted environment, and what internal organizational structure will help to facilitate a company's competitive strategy in 2010. The study was conducted using the Delphi Technique. It is a forecasting mechanism designed to build consensus using an expert Delphi Committee. Principles For Examining Predictive Validity: The Case Of Information Systems Spending Forecasts, Fred Collopy, Monica Adya, J. Scott Armstrong

Management Faculty Research and Publications

Research over two decades has advanced the knowledge of how to assess predictive validity. We believe this has value to information systems (IS) researchers. To demonstrate, we used a widely cited study of IS spending. In that study, price-adjusted diffusion models were proposed to explain and to forecast aggregate U.S. information systems spending. That study concluded that such models would produce more accurate forecasts than would simple linear trend extrapolation. However, one can argue that the validation procedure provided an advantage to the diffusion models. We reexamined the results using an alternative validation procedure based on three principles extracted from …

This thesis will focus on Hotel Front Desk Management and the role of Information Technologies.

Recently, with the advancement of information systems, the hotel industry is changing as necessary. Property Management Systems--known in the hospitality field as PMS--have changed the way hotels operate.

Other technologies discussed are keyless lock systems, and computerized time card systems, along with other high-tech systems.

The major concern of this thesis is to research various Property Management Systems and to see what is the most important criteria hotel executives or operators seek before implementation.

Formalized Planning In Small Business: Increasing Strategic Choices, L. S. Baird, M. A. Lyles, J. Burdeane Orris

Scholarship and Professional Work - Business

A study of 188 small businesses was conducted to examine three distinct relationships in the planning process planning formality in relation to strategic decision processes, planning formality in relation to the strategies adopted, and planning formality in relation to firm performance. The results demonstrated that firms with formal planning emphasized more aspects of the strategic choice process, adopted a wider range of competitive and cooperative strategies, and grew more rapidly than did non-formal planners.

Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business

In this article, we examine the use of the key informant methodology by researchers investigating interorganizational relationships. Authors have advocated the use of multiple informants to increase the reliability and validity of informant reports. However, interorganizational research still tends to rely on single informants. We investigated informant selection and obtaining perceptual agreement among multiple informants, two problems that may have inhibited widespread use of multiple informants. We suggest procedures for dealing with those problems and provide an illustrative application of our proposals.
