JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 30, 2021) – East Tennessee State University is providing free drop-in COVID-19 testing at various campus locations for students, faculty and staff two days a week through the end of April.

The initiative is an effort to increase access for asymptomatic testing. No appointment is necessary and testing locations include Sherrod Library, D.P. Culp Student Center, Governors Hall and Basler Center for Physical Activity (CPA). Free drop-in testing is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locations, dates and times are subject to change. An up-to-date schedule is available at etsu.edu/covidtesting.

Public Private Partnership (PPP) is an alternative solution for the government in order to provide public goods and services that the government cannot fulfill itself due to budget constraints.    However, not all PPP implementations are successful. In this article, the determinants of the success of PPP implementation are examined.  The analysis was carried out based on articles discussing the keys success factors of implementing PPP. These articles are taken from articles published in reputable journals. State ownership may help firms have better access to credit and lower financing costs but it also results in “double agency” problem. This paper investigates whether foreign investors are afraid of investing in firms with state ownership. Our research sample includes 4,079 firm-years from 567 firms listed in Vietnamese stock markets during the period 2008-2017. We employ probit and tobit models to examine how state ownership determines foreign investors’ likelihood to invest and investment magnitude respectively. Furthermore, we continue to examine how an increase in state ownership changes foreign ownership. We find that firms with higher state ownership have lower …

This paper investigates the impact of earnings management (real and accrual) on stock returns ofPakistan stock exchange (PSX) listed companies. The study is done by testing a separate relationship of accrual and real earnings management and their collective relationship with the stock return. The study is conducted on 3900 firm-year observations from the non-financial PSX listed companies for the sample period 2005-17. The findings of the study show that a significant and negative relationship exists between stock returns and real and accrual earnings management. This paper aims to investigate the relationship between gold price, inflation and the dollar exchange rate on gold stock price of PT Aneka Tambang Indonesia. The ARDL time series model is used in the study involving PT Aneka Tambang Indonesia from December 2016 to November 2019. The findings show the price of gold doesn’t have a significant effect on the gold stock price while dollar exchange rate and inflation have a negative effect on the short and long term of the gold stock price of PT Aneka Tambang Indonesia.

Optimal Level, Partial Speed Of Adjustment And Determinants Of Corporate Cash Holding: Evidence From Mena Countries, Abdessamad Raghibi, Cuong Nguyen Thanh, Lahsen Oubdi

The Indonesian Capital Market Review

This paper investigates the existence of an optimal cash level, speed of adjustment, and cash holding determinants. The threshold regression and dynamic model were used in this study on four MENA countries from 2007 to 2018. The findings show there is a nonlinear relationship between cash level and firm’s value which is consistent with the trade-off theory. Furthermore, our study confirms that firms holding cash above the optimal level of having a lower speed of adjustment than the firms with cash levels below the optimal level with size, growth, and net-working capital being key corporate cash determinants. This paper aims to find the determinant factors of the liquidity risk premium on the Indonesian government bonds. There are two liquidity risk premium proxies to be used, the difference of the yield to maturity and the theoretical-yield of the bonds, and the average bid-ask spread of the bonds. The research used the Random Effect panel-data to define the determinant factors of the liquidity risk premium. The result shows that the liquidity-risk premium of Indonesian government bonds is affected by the bond’s characteristics and the financial market condition. The LEI-N rose by 0.36% during December 2020. The indicator has risen during each of the last three months. The rising indicator suggests that the Nebraska economy will expand solidly over the next 6 months. Three of the six components of the leading indicator improved during December. Building permits for single-family homes and airline passenger counts both rose modestly. Further, the value of the U.S. dollar dropped sharply in December, which will improve competitive conditions for agricultural producers, manufacturers, and other Nebraska businesses that export. Applications are currently being accepted for the Amerigroup Rural Medicine Scholarship (ARMS), which will be awarded in the fall of 2021 to three students in ETSU’s Master of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) concentration. This study evaluates the Dynamic Message Signs (DMSs) use to dissipate incident information on the freeways in Las Vegas, Nevada. It focuses on the DMSs message timing, extent, and content, from the operators’ and drivers’ perspectives, considering the variability in drivers’ freeway experience. Two-week incidents data with fifty-nine incidents, DMS log data, and responses from a survey questionnaire were used. The descriptive analysis of the incidents revealed that about 54% of the incidents had their information posted on the DMSs; however, information of only 18.6% of the incidents was posted on time. Purpose: This research studies an important, but relatively unexplored entrepreneurial aspect: motivation and aspiration on opportunity finding/discovery.

Design/Methodology/Approach: This study surveyed 230 nascent entrepreneurs on their opportunity finding behavior. A poisson regression and a logistic analysis were conducted to discover the relationship between motivation/aspiration and opportunity search behavior.

Findings: Motivation and aspiration interact to influence active search in a positive way. However, only willingness to become an entrepreneur is found to search for opportunities purposefully. Research Limitations/Implications: Participants of the research are from a Midwest state in United States. Future research may collect sample from more and larger areas.

Union commitment refers to the extent to which employees are dedicated to their union (Cooper-Hakim & Viswesvaran, 2005; Gordon, Philpot, Burt, Thompson, & Spiller, 1980). Union participation is active involvement in the union such as attending meetings, serving on committees, holding office, campaigning, voting, assisting with contracts and negotiations, managing union funds, and filing grievances (Anderson, 1979). The Moderating Roles Of Ownership Concentration And Foreign Ownership On Enterprise Risk Management And Firm Performance, Zhang Lan Jun

This study examines the relationship between enterprise risk management, firm performance, and the moderating role of ownership concentration and foreign ownership on the relationship between enterprise risk management and enterprise performance. The study uses 6015 listed firms in the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE) from 2016 to 2018. The results indicate that enterprise risk management significantly influences both short-term and long-term firm performance based on multiple regression and panel data analysis. The study also found that ownership concentration positively moderates the relationship between enterprise risk management and both short-term and long-term firm performance. However, foreign …

This paper aims to investigate the impact of debt on financial performance in the English Premier League from the 2000/01 season to the 2017/18 season. Panel model estimations concluded debt has a significant inverse relationship with financial performance. This relationship may potentially be stronger in larger clubs and could be present through human capital investment’s significant direct relationship with financial performance. This further emphasised usages of intangible assets as a player human capital investment indicator, rather than using wage costs like previous studies. Furthermore, filling a gap regarding how capital structures may be used to impact financial performance within’ football.
