A team of four people administers the UNL institutional repository (https://digitalcommons.unl.edu), which is one of the largest (109,000-plus full text items) and most-accessed (over 62,000,000 downloads) in the United States. The team also administers a robust library publishing program with over 80 scholarly monographs and 12 peer-reviewed journals. A recent focus of the program has been open educational resources, partnering with scholars to identify or create free online learning objects.

This study summarizes piecework incentive systems and examines two apparel manufacturing factories that used daily incentive calculations at one time and weekly incentive calculations at another. In addition, one factory implemented a multiple base-rate incentive system, often called jump-base. The data shows that, when not controlled, daily incentive can facilitate operators engaging in fraudulent activity such as ticket-holding. With fraud controlled, daily incentive calculation makes little difference in overall pay; therefore, it may have individual level motivational effects by nullifying the effect of averaging one-bad-day into the week. While jump-base may enhance productivity in lower performing operators or modules, one …

This work is a continuation of the characterization study of nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles (NPs) doped with transition metals (TM) like Mn, Fe and Zn, synthesized by the co-precipitation method. In this part, the effect of TM doping on the physical and mechanical properties of the NiO NPs is examined using a digital Vickers microhardness tester. The microhardness measurement results enable us to evaluate the important mechanical parameters including Vickers microhardness (HV), Young's modulus (E), yield strength (Y) and fracture toughness (KIC), responsible for practical industrial applications. In this paper, the rotary oscillation of a rigid sphere in an incompressible couple stress fluid is studied. The classical no slip boundary conditions are imposed on spherical boundary. Moreover, it is assumed that the couple stresses on the boundary of the sphere vanish. In the present study, the motion is generated by a sudden rotary oscillation of the rigid sphere about an axe passing through its center with a time-dependent angular velocity. We find analytically the probability density function, the cumulative distribution function, moment generating function, the reliability function and hazard function, which was proved to be a linear combination of the K distribution. Ceramic superconducting samples of type (nano-Ag)xCu0.5Tl0.5Ba2Ca2Cu3O10-δ, 0.0 ≤ x ≤ 3.0 wt.%, were successfully synthesized via single step solid-state reaction technique at 850 ºC and under ambient pressure. The samples were characterized by XRD and SEM. Obtained data revealed that the highest grains connectivity volume fraction was detected for the sample with x = 0.15 wt.%. The electrical properties of the prepared samples was examined using the electrical resistivity measurements, and the results proved that the highest superconducting transition temperature Tc was observed at x = 0.15 wt.%. Airline departures, not including private aircraft, increased from 25,143 in 2000 to 36,722 in 2017. More passengers necessitate more aircraft and more flights. With more aircraft at terminals, ground delays, based on current airport design, will continue to increase. In aircraft maintenance, leaders are under near-constant pressure to maintain airworthiness. Every minute an aircraft cannot fly due to maintenance represents financial waste. Decisions are therefore made in a relatively quick fashion. A leader evaluates the situation, identifies a course of action and then communicates this message to a team of technicians. However, gender influences regarding leaders’ decisions can influence team members’ perceptions of those decisions.

Training and experience (T&E) include previous work and volunteer experience, education or other training, and credentials (Schneider, 1994). Evaluations of T&E are often included in employee selection procedures to screen and rate applicants based on information provided on resumes, applications, or other documents. These evaluations attempt to identify future successful employees by examining and applying systematic, judgment-based ratings to this information (McDaniel, Schmidt, & Hunter, 1988). JOHNSON CITY (March 4, 2020) – East Tennessee State University students representing three disciplines – business, computer science and mathematics – showcased their talent and teamwork during the first-ever National Analytics Case Competition held at Elon University last month. Their performance earned 2^nd place out of 10 other participating schools.

Previous literature has identified gaps in competencies that employers noted in young graduates. This study attempts to narrow that gap by focusing on the curriculum of the top 20 aviation programs in the U.S. to compare the curriculum to the skills employers cited to assess whether the courses offered in the current programs reflect the actual needs of the aviation workplace.
