Controlling Turnover In An Inside Sales Organization: What Are The Contributing Factors, Dennis H. Kimerer

The turnover rate for inside sales team, particularly in Central Florida, is exceedingly high. I have experienced this negative scenario managing inside sales teams for two major Telecom companies over the past 11 years, having as many as 40% of the salesforce resign within 30 days. Organizational costs to hire a new salesperson can be as high as 300% of the replaced employee’s salary and take as long as eight months to reach full productivity. Surrounded by the ocean, Taiwan has many rich marine cultural resources that have benefited its coastal communities and led to the development of diverse traditional marine industries. A typical example is the unique tradition of “Sea Buffalos Working in the Oyster Field”, which has been practiced for over a century in Fangyuan Township of Changhua County. The cultural landscape of buffalos and workers cultivating oyster fields has been recognized as a precious cultural heritage by both local and international parties. Factors Influencing Backer Funding Intention In Crowdfunding: Psychological Contract Violation Perspective, Qun Zhao, Chun-Der Chen, Jin-Long Wang

Literature has highlighted the importance of psychological contract violation (PCV) on employee attitudes and behaviors in an organization. However, few studies have empirically introduced this concept in a crowdfunding context. This study aims to propose a comprehensive framework to examine the effects of perceived product innovation, PCV and trust in a crowdfunding platform on backer attitudes and their funding intentions. Results show that perceived reciprocity for backers and PCV are the most important factors leading to backers’ funding intentions. Moreover, perceived reciprocity channels the effects of perceived product innovation, PCV, and trust in the crowd-funding platform on backers’ funding intention. …

We explore the determinants of success of Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) defined as whether the ICO was successful in raising the funds. We look at financial and technical information disclosed by the ICO as well as the information disclosed by third parties about the ICO and the level of legal protection granted. We discover that even if both hard information (financial and technical) and soft information (social media and legal protection) matter, nevertheless a more relevant role is played by the technical information. Based on our analysis, we identify areas that need further investigation in the context of ICOs.

This article analyzes a recently emerging halal market in Turkey and illuminates how discursive strategies foster the halal movement in an Islamic culture, and in a neoliberal economy. By exploring websites of the Turkish halal regulatory institutions and employing critical discourse analysis of the media materials, I demonstrate how Islamic actors (halal certification institutions and businesses) adapt, appropriate, and contest different discursive strategies to achieve legitimacy, to compete for distinction and to acquire power in a newly emerging and fiercely competitive, yet a globally defined field in a national economy. This paper conceptually examines the consequences of globalized industrial agriculture on consumers’ access to clean water sources. It identifies the historical conditioners that allowed contemporary agribusiness corporations to gain the influence they currently hold over global water consumption, and it discusses the struggles that consumers face without access to clean water. The paper makes an original contribution by shifting the focus from the fact that vulnerable consumers do not have access to clean water to the reasons why they do not have access. The current literature shows toxic leadership is surprisingly more prevalent than previously believed. This subset of organizational leadership studies revolves around leadership styles that poison the employee, the organization, or both. This study captures a common phenomenon for toxic leadership (symptoms) useful for diagnosing or addressing toxic leadership in organizations. My goal is to better understand toxic leadership to inform potential mitigation techniques that are applicable to business and military environments. My research suggests toxic leadership exists because senior leaders, those leaders above the toxic leader, allow it to exist, either unwittingly or knowingly. Independence is a critical foundation of all internal audit functions and internal audit services. The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) sets The International Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, which requires that internal audit functions maintain independence, and chief audit executives functionally report to the “board.” The term “board” is interpreted differently in different countries due to the country’s governance models. The diverse corporate governance models create different board structures and the CAE’s reporting relationship with the board. Wireless access points have greatly improved users' ability to connect to the Internet. However, they often lack the security mechanisms needed to protect users. Malicious actors could create a rogue access point (RAP), using a device such as the WiFi Pineapple Nano, that could trick users into connecting to an illegitimate access point (AP). To make them look legitimate, adversaries tend to setup RAPs to include a captive portal. This is very effective, since most public networks use captive portals as a means to provide genuine access.
