A groundwater report as required by Governor's January 17, 2014 Emergency Drought Proclamation (Order Action Number 11) requiring that DWR describe basins with potential water shortages and gaps in groundwater monitoring. Preparing the report entailed compiling and evaluating all available data, including information presented in California Water Plan Update 2013.

Data was compiled and analyzed from the California Statewide Groundwater Elevation Monitoring (CAS GEM) Program, the Water Data Library (WDL) groundwater level database, the draft Bulletin 160 California Water Plan Update 2013, and from well completion reports (driller'S logs) submitted to DWR. An examination of the state of the Salinas River Groundwater Basin (Basin) was conducted in the last half of 2014 as part of the larger Basin Investigation. This Executive Summary of the State of the Basin Report addresses the ramifications of prolonged drought by considering likely changes in groundwater head elevations, groundwater storage, and seawater intrusion in the event that the current drought continues. In addition, some steps are presented that could be taken to help alleviate the consequences of further depleting groundwater storage.

Abstract: The Appalachian region in the southern mid-west has long been the source of stereotyping for dramatic and political affect. Through the course of nine years as a resident in an Appalachian community in south-central Kentucky, the author experienced life as it is lived by the local people. Through the establishment of an art education organization, the author became entwined with local families and became familiar with the origins of many of those stereotypes. Hearing on the Indian Reorganization Act—75 Years Later: Renewing Our Commitment to Restore Tribal Homelands and Promote Self-Determination. Members looked at the history of U.S. Indian Policy examining the original intent and legislative history of the Indian Reorganization Act [IRA] and subsequent amendment to the Act. Since 1934, the IRA has stood as the bedrock of Federal Indian policy. A 2009 Supreme Court decision narrowly construed the text of the IRA up-ending the status quo, which had existed for 75 years, contrary to Congressional intent, legislative history and previous affirmative actions by the Administration. Child, written on letterhead of the Office of the Maysville and Lexington Railroad Company (Northern Division), Maysville, Kentucky. He refers to an earlier report to an investor and details the current cost of construction work on the railroad, including his careful pricing of materials and rolling stock. In particular, he sets out the prices for a contract to construct 33 miles of track to Carlisle, Kentucky.

JOHNSON CITY (January 7, 2019) – East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy has named Bruce Gannaway to serve as assistant dean of finance.    

In this new position, Gannaway serves as the college’s chief financial officer and is responsible to the dean for all activities related to budget, personnel, finance and administration, and participates as a member of the college’s leadership team.

Prosocial Rule-Breaking To Help Coworker: Nature, Causes, And Effect On Service Performance, Cass Shum, Ankita Ghosh, Anthony R. Gatling

We examine the nature, antecedents, and service performance consequence of employees’ prosocial rule-breaking behaviors with a motive to help coworkers (PSBC) in two studies. Using a qualitative exploratory study with a sample of 80 hospitality workers, we showed the prevalence of PSBC in the hospitality industry, which includes four unique forms. Next, we examined the causes and effect of PSBC by drawing on the social cognitive theory. We proposed that coworkers PSBC and employees’ moral courage interactively predict employee PSBC, which has a negative effect on service performance. We tested the hypotheses using a time-lagged survey study with a sample …

The Red Sea is a unique body of water, hosting some of the most productive and diverse coral reefs. Human populations along coasts of the Red Sea were initially sparse due to the hot and arid climate surrounding it, but this is changing with improved desalination techniques, accessible energy, and increased economic interest in coastal areas. In addition to increasing pressure on reefs from coastal development, global drivers, primarily ocean acidification and seawater warming, are threatening coral reefs of the region. This study aims to determine the effect of religiosity, nationalism, and perceptions of tax corruption on MSMEs taxpayer compliance in the area of Bandung City. This research used taxpayer awareness, moral obligation, and quality of tax service as factors. A questionnaire was used as research instruments in data collection. Respondents in this research were individuals who run businesses that belong to small and medium micro-enterprises. Consumer confidence fell in Nebraska during December 2018. The Consumer Confidence Index – Nebraska (CCI-N) fell to 99.1 in December 2018, below the neutral value of 100, and well below the November value of 106.4. The Business Confidence Index – Nebraska (BCI-N) stood at 109.9 in December, well above the neutral level and slightly up from 107.2 in November. When asked about the most important issue facing their business, 36 percent of respondents chose customer demand while 26 mentioned the quality and availability of labor and 11 percent mentioned competition from other businesses. A debate exists on the issue of whether a governance system is value additive or even necessary for a privately-held firm. One side of the debate suggests that, since agency problems do not exist in a small private firm, it does not need a costly governance system. The other side argues that a private firm indeed faces agency costs in the form of altruism and, therefore, could extract net gains from a governance system. Authentic leadership development theory is applied to examine the success achieved by two of the greatest coaches in the history of elite level American sports: John Wooden and Vince Lombardi. Authentic leadership development theory posits authenticity in the leader as a key ingredient in the success of corporate endeavours. Their authentic leadership fosters greater willingness on the part of followers to act in ways that serve the interests of a mutual vision of an organisation’s values and mission. Unethical Leadership And Followers’ Deviance: The Mediating Role Of Perception Of Politics And Injustice, Zeleke Asnakew, Yibeltal Mekonnen

The Journal of Values-Based Leadership

This paper posits that unethical leadership behavior increases followers’ deviance by increasing perception of injustice and politics in organizations. More specifically, perception of politics and injustice mediates the relationship between unethical leadership behavior and followers’ deviance. By using data from 262 employees of various public organizations in Ethiopia, we confirmed our hypothesis. Further, the result of multiple regression confirmed that the relationship between unethical leadership behavior and followers’ deviance would be stronger when followers develop a perception of politics in the workplace.
