Collaborative Competitive Intelligence: A Knowledge Base System Approach, Yu Liang Chi, Tsang Yao Chen
Business and Information Technology Faculty Research & Creative Works
This study develops a collaborative decision support system to enhance the enterprise competitive intelligence (CI) decision process. A CI knowledge model is constructed by identifying concepts of and relations among instance types, decision models, rules of thumb, and weighting of organization functions. The system consists of: 1) a Domain Ontology of concepts and instances to express the knowledge categorization structure; 2) a Task Ontology to express an objective-oriented knowledge framework to express the combination of questions; and 3) Semantic Rules to develop the logical steps for problem solving. Pakistan’s merchandise exports have declined from 0.18 percent in 1990 to 0.14 percent of the world export market in the last twenty five years. India’s share has tripled from 0.57 percent to 1.78 while Bangladesh’s share has risen from 0.05 percent to 0.14 percent in the same period. Pakistan’s exports, which used to be only one third of India, have fallen to one tenth and Bangladesh, which used to lag behind with its exports being only one third of Pakistan’s in 1990, exceeded our exports level last year. At the turn of the millennium, 97 percent of merchandise exports used …

A Comparative Study Of Administrator And Special Education Teacher Perceptions Of Special Education Teacher Attrition And Retention, Danielle Angelina Sheldrake
Dissertations and Theses
This mixed methods study identifies perceived causes of and solutions to the attrition of special education teachers. Researchers have documented that special education teaching positions encounter higher attrition rates than their general education peers (Katsiyannis, Zhang, & Conroy in Olivarez & Arnold, 2006; Mitchell & Arnold, 2004; Otto & Arnold, 2005; Stempien & Loeb, 2002). More than 66 administrators and 200 special education teachers/Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSAs) employed in the Portland, Oregon metro area (Washington, Clackamas, and Multnomah counties) completed a survey on special education teacher attrition and retention and identified what they believed are the causes of high …
