Economic recovery gained strength across the major metro areas of the Mountain West in the first quarter of 2013. Multiple metro areas achieved long-awaited full employment recoveries in the first quarter and regional production surpassed pre-recession levels of output for the first time. The region’s strong housing rebound continued to be a boon. Additionally, a special supplement to the Monitor shows that the healthcare sector has been an outsized contributor to recovery throughout the region. Despite progress on multiple fronts, though, many Mountain metro areas remain scarred with high unemployment rates, severely depressed house prices, and daunting jobs deficits.

Current firm performance is not only measured by economic term (single bottom line) but also by social and environmental (triple bottom line). Purposes of this research are analyzing of TBL disclosure and influences factors, by using sample of companies in Indonesia and Japan. This paper investigates Triple Bottom Line (TBL) disclosure of 50 of the largest Indonesian and Japanese companies by using secondary data. Twenty two disclosure criteria were developed for each of the TBL disclosure areas: economic, social, and enviromental. Smart Meter Technology And The Effects On Grocery Retailers, Cara Cremeans

Honors Theses

This study investigates the relationship grocery retailers have with their utility company and the smart meter technologies that will be implemented in their grocery stores in the near future. I engaged in background research and conducted qualitative interviews of several Chief Executive Officers and owners of local grocery supermarkets, as well as a contract Chief Financial Officer who works closely with small grocery retail stores. For each interview, the men were asked a series of questions relating to sustainability, smart meters, and store operations.

As the recent offering of bonds by Apple illustrates, bonds are subject to their own types of risk. In particular, price risk exists since prices react to changes in interest rates. As is the case with the Apple bonds, a recent rise in rates has significantly reduced the price of these bonds, leading to a capital loss for bondholders. Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning Faculty Publications and Presentations

Published research has provided a robust set of documented tools and techniques for transforming individual engineering courses in ways that use evidence-based instructional practices. Many engineering faculty are already aware of these practices and would like to use them. However, they still face significant implementation barriers. The E²R2P effort addresses the question: How can successes in engineering education research translate into widespread instructional practice?

The purpose of this study is to apply the cultural tourism typology of McKercher and to estimate the economic relevance of cultural tourism to the context of a small island destination tourist market. Small island destinations may be confronted with environmental constraints that restrain the traditional small island tourism development model, which is based on sun, sand, and sea. The cultural tourism typology is used in order to determine whether the typology may be used to segment tourists thereby allowing researchers to determine the economic impact of different cultural tourist segments. Leading Economic Indicator Reports

The Leading Economic Indicator – Nebraska (LEI-N) rose by 0.09% during May 2013. The small increase in the LEI-N, which predicts economic growth in the state six months in the future, follows a solid increase in April. Taken together, results for the two months suggest moderate economic growth in Nebraska during the fall of 2013. Looking at individual components of the LEI-N, three of the six components of the LEI-N rose during May. Single-family building permits and airline passengers both rose during the month, indicating strength in the housing sector and the broader economy. Business expectations also rose. In particular, …
