Alumna helps save a life through blood stem cell donation
As a pharmacist, alumna Dr. Brooke Stayer’s (’10) passion is to help patients, but when she recently served as a blood stem cell donor, she felt she was able to help a patient in a completely new way. Stayer serves as the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services and PGY1 Residency Program Director at Holston Valley Medical Center.

JOHNSON CITY – The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recognized ETSU Health’s Baby Steps clinic as a “Promising Practice” for enhancing primary care services for children and families affected by prenatal opioid exposure.
The Baby Steps Clinic is an interdisciplinary clinic at ETSU Health Pediatrics that cares for the complex needs of children from birth to 5 years who have been affected by prenatal substance exposure.

Recently, longtime Gatton College of Pharmacy benefactors David and Betty Jo Pesterfield signed a memorandum of understanding to create the Pharmacy Plus Community Pharmacy Scholarship and Travel Endowment.
