JOHNSON CITY – (Oct. 26, 2021) East Tennessee State University will host one of 22 Bands of America Regional Championships held across the nation this fall. The event will take place Oct. 30 in the ETSU Ballad Health Athletic Center (Mini Dome).

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2021) – Ballad Health announced it has committed a $10 million investment to create the Appalachian Highlands Center for Nursing Advancement at East Tennessee State University.
The Center will be dedicated to bringing nursing, business, liberal arts, education and other academic and support programs together to increase the pipeline of opportunity and augment the supply of nurses and nursing support in the Appalachian Highlands.

“Approximately one in eight women will face breast cancer in their lifetime. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2021) – A researcher in the East Tennessee State University College of Public Health is studying how mutations in the Ataxia telangiectasia mutated kinase (ATM) gene affect heart function.
“Approximately 3 million Americans have a heterozygous mutation of ATM,” said Dr. Suman Dalal, assistant professor in the Department of Health Sciences. “Individuals with ATM mutations show enhanced vulnerability to ischemic heart disease and die 11 years earlier than the non-carriers.”

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2021) – The East Tennessee State University Department of Music will present its 2021 Choral Collage on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of the Martin Center for the Arts.
The annual Choral Collage concert is the season opener for the ETSU Choirs, including the ETSU Chorale, Greyscale, BucsWorth and the East Tennessee Belles. The ensembles will perform a variety of music, from Renaissance to contemporary pop.
