JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 17, 2023) — East Tennessee State University has been ranked the top animation school in Tennessee and No. 7 nationally among schools offering an animation-related B.S. degree in the 2023 Animation School Rankings.

The online resource Animation Career Review considered nearly 200 schools with animation programs across the United States in determining the 12^th annual rankings.

JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 9, 2023) – With just under half of Tennesseans not yet fully vaccinated against COVID-19, East Tennessee State University will soon provide new opportunities for the vaccine to be available at clinics in rural communities as well as a new mobile vaccination unit.

The initiative is being made possible through a $1.3 million grant from the Tennessee Department of Health awarded to ETSU’s College of Nursing and Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. The goal of the grant is to reach patients in socially vulnerable areas of Northeast Tennessee.

JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 6, 2023) – East Tennessee State University’s Office of Professional Development will offer its three-month Pharmacy Technician Certification Training Course starting Feb. 7.

The class, limited to 35 students, will provide an overview of skills and knowledge required to assist pharmacists in handling medications and serving patients in retail and hospital pharmacy settings. Those who pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) examination become nationally certified, and the course offers sessions to accommodate new PTCB requirements.

The purpose of this study was to better understand the role burnout plays in turnover intention and job dissatisfaction among marketing and communications employees in intercollegiate athletics. A secondary aim was to identify to what extent were job requirements, compensation, and expectations of administrators and coaches driving burnout in these employees. Study participants came from those currently working in marketing and/or communications at various levels of intercollegiate competition. The study used the Oldenberg Burnout Inventory, as well as specific questions related to the profession to uncover major causes of burnout in this particular occupation. Ethical leadership with regards to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and stakeholder management impacts institutional and departmental culture. Formalized leadership ethics and compliance initiatives improve institutional structures. The importance of graduate leadership that embraces ethics and compliance programs ensures adherence to policies set forth by institutions and mitigates bias. Stakeholder management is key because adherence allows leadership to develop strategic plans with stakeholders in mind, while decreasing quality issues. As a result, there is value to executing stakeholder management plans within graduate education.

The purpose of this chapter was to examine whether the six variables of graduate educational quality predict intentional education practice (IEP) (teaching style) in United States graduate university programs. The issue is that graduate student engagement, student satisfaction, and matriculation diminish without IEP. Consequently, current performance measures of graduate higher educational programs illuminate issues in processes within instruction, quantity of trained instructor mentors, professional support networks, and existing programming, which may need improvement.
