With the rapid growth rate of technology innovation different sectors tends to keep up with the developing trends by implementing the latest technology with the aim of achieving their goals. Educational institutions deploy information systems in their teaching and learning environment to enhance performance. However, educational institutions usually struggle with smooth implementation of IT leading to its failure. The IMSA Scholarship and Innovation Committee was established in August, 2019 by Dr. José Torres based on report recommendations from Research Fellow, Dr. Page as a way to deepen a culture of scholarship, research and innovation across the IMSA community. The percent of Nebraska’s population that is foreign born has steadily increased during the past decade. In fact, its growth in foreign born population since 2010 ranks in the top 10 among all states. Given these changes, are rural Nebraskans aware of recent immigrants in their community? How do they perceive immigrants and their impacts on rural Nebraska? How do they view various immigration policies? This paper provides a detailed analysis of these questions. This report details 1,776 responses to the 2019 Nebraska Rural Poll, the 24th annual effort to understand rural Nebraskans’ perceptions. Respondents were asked a series of …

Dr. Melton participated in a Zoom panel with Yale School of Medicine and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) to discuss the impact of Covid-19 on caring for patients with substance use disorders.
This was part of ETSU's participation in the Phase 1 (Jan.July 2020) pilot for Addiction Treatment: Clinical Skills for Healthcare Professionals funded by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to support educating health professionals in evidence-based prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. SAMHSA awarded the grant for two years to the AAAP in collaboration with Yale University.

Choosing Information Systems As A Major: Factors That Influence Selection, Carole L. Shook

The purpose of this study was to examine student perceptions of factors affecting the decision to select information systems as an undergraduate major. Additionally, information systems students were compared to other business students to see if significant differences existed between groups. The four factors studied included: (a) personal interest in the major, (b) student competence, (c) value and utility, and (d) external influences of other people and academic experiences.
A convenience sample was used at a public university in the Southeastern region of the United States. Two hundred junior/senior students were selected as participants. One hundred of the students were …

There are persistent and pervasive issues plaguing American education, and almost seventy years of educational reform efforts have failed to adequately improve educational outcomes for many of America’s children. Networked improvement communities (or NICs) are a type of social organization created to address such problems and are proposed as an effective and efficient way to organize improvement efforts. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to explore the sensemaking experience of a newly-formed networked improvement community as members engaged in inquiry around a chosen problem of practice. Community colleges often face challenges with leadership as a result of retirements and turnover. In reaction to these challenges some community colleges have developed Grow Your Own (GYO) leadership development programs. Although the topic of leadership and leadership development has been researched extensively, more research is necessary concerning GYO programs and their perceived impact on participants and their colleges. This study was designed to determine the perceived development of GYO participants as well as the perception of a GYO’s impact on the organization. For African American (AA) male musicians, the road toward career advancement in the entertainment industry is particularly arduous. Despite many difficulties on the journey to career success, the history of gospel, R&B, jazz, and funk music is evidence that many AA male musicians find their way to develop and advance their careers. Communism In Чебурашка (Čeburaška) Film: A Semiotic Study, Hendra Kaprisma
International Review of Humanities Studies
This article discusses communism in the film titled Čeburaška by Eduard Uspenskij. The study aims to identify the ideology of communism in Čeburaška. The Roland Barthes' semiotic theory was used to analyse the film. In order to see communism contained in Čeburaška, the author used two stages of Roland Barthes' semiotic theory of denotation and connotation. The research used descriptive and criticism methods. In analysing communism in Čeburaška, the author also use the following concepts: the concept of character and characterization, ideology, and film as an ideology.
