Purpose: The purpose of the research was to study the relationship between the physical training of highly qualified handball players and technical training, to give methodological instructions for their improvement.
Methods: 1. Analysis of the existing special scientific and methodological literature and study of their experience 2. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to show the dynamics of development of speed and power capabilities of preschool and young children.

JOHNSON CITY (June 2, 2021) – A “storymap” telling the story of the Gray Fossil Site using maps of fossils clarifies how the site formed and improves paleontological research.
“Spatial Analyses of the Gray Fossil Site Vertebrate Remains” was created by David Carney, a May graduate of ETSU’s master’s degree program in geosciences with a concentration in paleontology. This study combined geographic information systems (GIS) and vertebrate taphonomy – the study of what happens to animals after death and burial – and was published as his master’s thesis.

JOHNSON CITY (June 1, 2021) – A group of East Tennessee State University scientists recently published their first COVID-19 related paper emerging from funding awarded to Dr. Zhi Q. Yao by the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
The paper, titled “Blockage of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein-mediated cell–cell fusion using COVID-19 convalescent plasma,” was recently published in Scientific Reports. The funding Yao received from the ADA in 2020 was the university’s first major funding for COVID-19-specific research.

JOHNSON CITY — The Geoinformatics and Disaster Science (GADS) Lab at East Tennessee State University has received national recognition from FEMA, being featured in the federal agency’s Mitigation Planning Success Stories series. Currently, the online storymap only includes 13 stories nationally.

Rochelly Rivera Matos grew up speaking Spanish as her primary language in her hometown of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico.
However, language has not been a significant barrier for her at East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. The third-year student pharmacist has immersed herself in student organizations and helped her peers from different cultures and languages adapt to life in East Tennessee.

JOHNSON CITY – In his classrooms and in other supervisory settings, Dr. Mickey White prepares his students at East Tennessee State University to step into the role of a counselor.
He trains them for the types of situations they may face. He provides feedback in the clinical setting. He shares research and best practices, and he leads important exploratory discussions on the complex ethical standards that govern the profession.
Unfortunately, when turning to any research and best practices that specifically address the experiences of LGBTQ counselors, White says the bookshelves are almost bare.

JOHNSON CITY – East Tennessee State University is preparing to launch two in-demand programs that will expand its footprint in the rehabilitative sciences – a Doctor of Occupational Therapy and a Master of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
ETSU will begin accepting applications for both programs this July, and will welcome the first cohorts of students in May 2022.

After finishing an undergraduate degree at another university, Adam Derrick wasn’t quite sure what they wanted to do next. It was at this crossroad that Adam “stumbled” into the AmeriCorps program.
And from there, the future suddenly became clear.
Adam’s first AmeriCorps assignment was in Austin working with College Forward, an organization that assisted first-generation and low-income students in setting higher education goals and helping them succeed. Adam served as a mentor to these students and loved the experience.

The problem addressed in this study was the literature gap regarding how internal organizational knowledge can be increased effectively within outsourcing projects. The study was a qualitative social constructionist case study composed of senior technology leaders. The purpose this study addressed was to understand the current structure of technical outsourcing contracts and how future contracts could be structured to address the problem of this study. The research incorporated how a reconceptualized absorptive capacity model, sociocognitive theory, and digital leadership mindsets could improve knowledge transfer outcomes between a vendor and client. In this article, we introduce an Excel exercise on simulation that can be implemented in a management accounting class. Specifically, we introduce a three phase implementation process where instructors (i) give the class an introduction to simulation, (ii) introduce students to a four-step process used in conducting analysis using simulation in Excel, and (iii) introduce a simulation problem focused on a specific area of management accounting (revenue projection) and guide students in completing the simulation analysis in Excel.
