v.1 is a publishing platform for the ongoing work, ideas, discussions, debates, and aspirations of students at the Rhode Island School of Design. The Winter 2022 issue is a special edition "art writing capsule," with three zines that each feature a student writing about a work of art, and a fourth zine with an editor's note and postscript. Writing 1 is Angelina Rogers on Salman Toor's "Two Boys with a Dog," Writing 2 is Maxwell Fertik on Shahzia Sikander's "Epistrophe," and Writing 3 is Sabo Kpade on Lynette Yiadom-Boakye's "Any Number of Preoccupations."

The following research project is the result of comparing and contextualizing the original non-musical and musical drafts of the original 1961 Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. The intention is to detail the process of musically adapting a non-musical source, specifically the 1952 satirical text How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying: The Dastard's Guide to Fame and Fortune by businessman-turned-satirist Shepherd Mead. Power dynamics between teacher/director and student/actors in an educational theatre setting are inevitable and directly impact the way consent is viewed and given, specifically with youth performers. In response to the #MeToo movement within theatre and film, the role of intimacy choreographer emerged with the goal of creating a consent-based rehearsal process that ensured the mental, emotional, and physical safety of the actor (Pace 25) while conveying the intimacy required to effectively support the script. This thesis presents a visual design exploration of video game storytelling in physical themed environments, specifically, theme parks. The theme park industry has only recently begun to tap into the video game market, with seasonal attractions and events in parks, and the first fully video game dedicated land, Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. Audiences relay morbid support towards the enjoyment of horrific entertainment. Such examples are the success and long-standing allure spectators hold towards musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Spring Awakening, Heathers, and more. These are shows that include themes of death, darkness, and tragedy which are presented. Using Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and Motivation, The Jungian Archetype of Shadow, and Catharsis I will show how audiences are supportive of protagonists who portray actions resulting in death, darkness, and murder despite the societal pressure to find such subject matter as offensive, vile, repugnant, or obscene. As a Latina theatre practitioner born and raised in Venezuela now studying Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) in the United States, I perceive a generalization and oversimplification of Latin American culture or culturally specific pieces across available TYA dramatic literature and other forms of children's entertainment, with Mexican culture as a monolith for all Hispanics and Latin Americans. The purpose of this thesis is to explore a new type of ride design which integrates one or more transitions between formats. Theme Park visitors have come to expect a certain type of immersive experience from attractions. Most rides in the parks are very predictable such as roller coasters which offer loops, drops, speed and quick turns, while dark rides offer a slower pace with the attention on storytelling. This thesis seeks to establish core design elements for use by theme park designers to complement the guidelines established by Ledbetter and his colleagues for theme parks. Building upon Rose Biggin's "strands of enquiry" for examining immersive theatre, the suggested core design elements for immersive theme park queues serve as guidance to craft queues where audiences can actively engage with the queue's storyworld and narrative. Implementation of the core design elements alongside the already established queue design guidelines should assist designers in crafting queues that minimize discomfort and maximize narrative immersion. Systems of power in traditional theatrical and educational models may lead to controlled, efficient classrooms, but they do not help us facilitate creative, collaborative spaces. These power structures privilege some people over others and all people over environmental concerns. Eco-theatre artists emphasize the agency of more-than-human materials and encourage us to see our environment as a collaborator. Using eco-theatre theories in a synthesized methodology, this thesis explores how facilitators might interact differently with students and surroundings to disrupt power structures and lead to more inclusive collaborations. While theme park parades have developed with technology and guest demands, there is an opportunity to continue innovating the medium with additional guest interactivity. This thesis tracks experiential comparatives that provide iterative components to be utilized for a new theme park parade concept; parade "show stops" that allow for guests to approach the parade floats up-close, participatory entertainment offerings with live actor-driven branching narratives, roleplay and gameplay-driven interactive experiences, and theme park parades that follow a direct linear narrative. Theatre for Young Audiences companies in the United States rely heavily on recognized titles to bring in audiences. As a result, most of their productions are adapted from recognizable titles, including films, television series, and popular literature. These adaptations draw audiences in that may not otherwise go to the theatre, which is especially important within the world of TYA where the target audience (children) only gains access to a theatre through adult caregivers. Every enchanted Fall season, a segment of the public flocks to a multitude of haunted Halloween attractions across the U.S., to experience fear as a form of amusement and entertainment. Psychologists continue to research the physiological and cognitive behaviors that are associated with fear and the "fight or flight" responses that are triggered when individuals are engaged in a heighten sense of danger. However, as guests traverse through these haunted attraction experiences, it's commonplace for guests to enter into these typical modes of "fight or flight" behaviors very quickly. This document is a thesis project submitted in partial fulfillment of the Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre. It is a detailed account of author Morgan Benson’s artistic process in creating the role Myra Arundel in Minnesota State University, Mankato’s production of Hay Fever in Fall of 2021. The thesis project chronicles the actor’s artistic process from pre-production through performance in five chapters: a pre-production analysis, a historical and critical perspective, a rehearsal and performance journal, a post-production analysis and a process development analysis. Inspired by the author’s memories, KeyBoard Memories and You have the Right to Forget are two short stage plays exploring topics of identity, time, and justice. This thesis uses personal and creative memories to develop stories in the form of scripts. The thesis begins with an example of creative writing inspired by the author’s personal and creative memories and describes the purpose of the project before moving into a review of literature that explains what memories are, how they work, and the different types of memories. วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการสร้างสรรค์ละครรำชวา โดยการนำบทละครรำของไทย มาทดลองทำการจัดแสดงเป็นนาฏกรรมข้ามวัฒนธรรมจากไทยสู่อินโดนีเซีย โดยเลือกบทละครรำเรื่อง พระลอ ตอนเสี่ยงน้ำ มาเป็นต้นแบบในการศึกษาทดลองแปลงเป็นละครรำ เซินดราตารี ของราชสำนักยกยาการ์ตา เนื่องจากละครรำทั้งสองนี้มีองค์ประกอบการแสดงและมีวัฒนธรรมคล้ายคลึงกัน และมี วายังกุลิต คือหนังชวาซึ่งคล้ายหนังตะลุงก็นำมาแสดงในส่วนที่ต้องการดำเนินเรื่องที่เป็นมายาการ การแสดงใช้เวลาการแสดง 25 นาที แสดงนำโดยตัวละครสำคัญสองตัวคือพระลอกับพระนางบุญเหลือ คือมารดาของพระลอ มีการประพันธ์บทเป็นภาษาอินโดนีเซีย จึงตั้งชื่อการแสดงตอนนี้ว่า มาตุยะ เมตตา แปลว่า ความรักของมารดา ใช้วงดนตรี เครื่องแต่งกายและการรำตามจารีตของราชสำนักยกยาการ์ตา โดยแทรกท่ารำทำบทของไทยในบางแห่งที่เหมาะสมเพื่อให้มีกลิ่นอายของไทย ผลการวิจัยพบว่าการทดลองสร้างสรรค์ละครรำชวาเรื่อง พระลอ ตอน มาตุยะ เมตตา ได้ประสบความสำเร็จ โดยมีผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ นักวิชาการ ผู้ร่วมงานและคนดู ทั้งฝ่ายไทยและอินโดนีเซีย ได้รับความรู้ความเข้าใจ ความพึงพอใจและให้ความเห็นชอบ ทั้งนี้เป็นเพราะวัฒนธรรมและจารีตการแสดงละครรำแบบราชสำนักของไทยและของยกยาการ์ตาคล้ายคลึงกันมาก ทั้งโดยเนื้อเรื่อง บุคลิกลักษณะของตัวละคร ประเพณีและความเชื่อในเรื่องจิตวิญญาณ ตลอดจนการร้อง การรำ การดำเนินเรื่อง จึงทำให้การแสดงข้ามวัฒนธรรมเป็นไปได้ด้วยดี จึงสมควรมีการทำวิจัยทดลองสร้างสรรค์เช่นนี้เพื่อต่อยอดให้เสร็จสมบูรณ์ตามท้องเรื่องของพระลอ และสามารถนำแนวทางจากข้อค้นพบในวิทยานิพนธ์นี้ไปพัฒนาและทดลองสร้างสรรค์นาฏกรรมข้ามวัฒนธรรมชาติอื่นๆ ได้อย่างเหมาะสม เพื่อความก้าวหน้าของวงวิชาการนาฏยศิลป์ต่อไปในอนาคต

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างสรรค์การแสดงละครเพลงพื้นบ้าน(ภาคกลาง) จากกระบวนการสร้างชุดแบบฝึกทักษะการด้นสำหรับนักแสดงละครเพลงพื้นบ้าน ใช้ระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้วิจัยมุ่งเน้นศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสารทางวิชาการ ข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ ภาพถ่าย สื่ออิเล็กทรอนิกส์ การสังเกตการณ์ การฝึกปฏิบัติ การสนทนากลุ่มย่อย นำมาวิเคราะห์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการฝึกทักษะนักแสดง และดำเนินการทดลองใช้แบบฝึกหัดพัฒนาทักษะการด้น ตลอดจนดำเนินการพัฒนา ปรับปรุง แก้ไข ทดลองสร้างสรรค์การแสดงรูปแบบละครเพลงพื้นบ้านจำนวน 5 ชุด ผลจากการวิจัยพบว่า นวัตกรรมการแสดงละครเพลงพื้นบ้าน แบ่งออกเป็น 4 ขั้นตอน คือ 1) ขั้นตอนการให้ความรู้ หลักการ และแนวคิดการด้นในศิลปะการละครและเพลงพื้นบ้าน 2) ขั้นตอนการพัฒนาทักษะและทดลองแบบฝึกหัดการด้น แบ่งเป็นชุดแบบฝึกหัดการด้นในศิลปะการละคร จำนวน 5 ชุด คือ บทบาทสมมติ สถานการณ์คับขัน จำลองปะทะ นิทานอารมณ์ ส่องกระจกแล้วย้อนดูเรา และการด้นในเพลงพื้นบ้าน จำนวน 5 ชุด คือ ชื่อกับคำสัมผัส นิทานคล้องจอง สัญญะอวัยวะ สถานการณ์กลอนสด โครงเรื่องกับกลอนปฏิภาณ 3) ขั้นตอนการแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ และ4) ทดลองสร้างสรรค์การแสดงรูปแบบละครเพลงพื้นบ้านโดยใช้ทักษะการด้นร้องเพลงพื้นบ้านดำเนินเรื่องราว ผลการวิจัยยังพบว่า ผู้เข้าร่วมกระบวนการฝึกทักษะการด้นเพลงพื้นบ้าน จำนวน 30 คน มี 2 คน สามารถร้องด้นได้อย่างแคล่วคล่อง และมีไหวพริบปฎิภาณ ปัจจัยหลักที่นักแสดงส่วนใหญ่ไม่สามารถร้องด้นได้อย่างแคล่วคล่อง คือทักษะการฟัง คลังคำ และความแม่นยำของฉันทลักษณ์

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องการแสดง ณ ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะศึกษาการแสดง ณ ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง มีการศึกษาค้นคว้า รวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสารทางวิชาการ และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งข้อมูลเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ รวมไปถึงการสัมภาษณ์ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ จากนั้นนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาวิเคราะห์ และสรุปผลการวิจัย เพื่อให้เป็นองค์ความรู้ที่สำคัญวงการนาฏยศิลป์ไทย ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ศาลาเฉลิมกรุงเป็นถาวรวัตถุที่มีอายุ 89 ปี เดิมเคยเป็นโรงภาพยนตร์ที่มีความทันสมัยมาก เมื่อเข้ายุคสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ต้องหยุดฉายหนัง และมีการนำละครเวทีขึ้นมาแสดงแทนชั่วคราว เมื่อสงครามจบลงหนังจึงกลับมาฉายดังเดิม ต่อมาในปี 2535 มีการปิดปรับปรุงครั้งใหญ่ เป็นการบูรณะส่วนโครงสร้างสถาปัตยกรรม เวที ที่นั่งของผู้ชม และเทคนิคต่าง ๆ พร้อมการเปิดตัวอีกครั้งในฐานะเฉลิมกรุงรอยัลเธียเตอร์ในปี 2536 มีการแสดงคอนเสิร์ต เป็นเวทีประกาศรางวัล จัดการประกวดต่าง ๆ รวมไปถึงการจัดการแสดง โขนจินตนฤมิตร ต่อมาได้จัดการแสดงโขนศาลาเฉลิมกรุงขึ้น โดยในแต่ละปีจะจัดเนื่องในวโรกาสที่สำคัญ อาทิ เนื่องในโอกาสพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช ทรงครองสิริราชสมบัติครบ 60 ปี เป็นต้น และในปัจจุบันได้จัดเป็นการแสดงโขนรอบนักท่องเที่ยว ผลการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาพบว่า การแสดง ณ ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง แบ่งออกเป็น 5 ยุค ดังนี้ 1) ภาพยนตร์ก่อนสงคราม 2) ละครเวทีช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 3) ภาพยนตร์หลังสงคราม 4) โรงมหรสพระดับสากล 5) โขนศาลาเฉลิมกรุง จากการศึกษาของผู้วิจัยเห็นได้ชัดว่า แต่ละยุคมีทั้งการแสดงที่เหมือน และแตกต่างกัน อย่างเช่นยุคที่ 1 และ 3 จะมีการฉายภาพยนตร์เหมือนกัน และต่างกันอย่างยุคที่ 2 แสดงละครเวที ส่วนยุคที่ 5 แสดงโขน ปัจจัยแห่งการเปลี่ยนอันมีนัยสำคัญ กล่าวคือ การเกิดสงคราม และความนิยมสิ่งบันเทิงใหม่ ที่ส่งผลกระทบต่อการแสดงโดยตรง แม้ว่าศาลาเฉลิมกรุงจะมีการปรับเปลี่ยนการแสดงอยู่ตลอดนั้นเพราะว่าต้องการที่จะให้การแสดงที่จัดอยู่ในการดูแลของศาลาเฉลิมกรุงมีความเท่าทันต่อความนิยมในแต่ละยุคสมัย และอีกประเด็นหนึ่งนั้นก็คือ เพื่อเป็นการแก้ไขสถานการณ์ และสภาวะการเปลี่ยนแปลงความนิยมสิ่งบันเทิงที่เกิดขึ้นในขณะนั้น เพื่อดำรงไว้ซึ่งโรงมหรสพหลวงอันรวมประวัติศาสตร์การแสดง ณ ศาลาเฉลิมกรุงสืบไป

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องคุณูปการของเสรี หวังในธรรมด้านนาฏกรรม มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาคุณูปการของเสรี หวังในธรรมด้านนาฏกรรม เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพจากเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ สังเกตการณ์ผลงานนาฏกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้อง มานำเสนอในแบบการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ โดยมีขอบเขตศึกษาชีวิตและผลงานนาฏกรรมของอาจารย์เสรี หวังในธรรม ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2498 จนถึง 2550 ผลการวิจัยพบว่าเสรี หวังในธรรมเริ่มการศึกษาที่โรงเรียนนาฏศิลป ด้านดนตรีสากล พร้อมทั้งสนใจเรียนรู้และฝึกฝนวิชานาฏกรรมประเภทต่าง ๆ ท่านเข้ารับราชการในโรงละครแห่งชาติ กองการสังคีต กรมศิลปากร ได้สะสมประสบการณ์จากคุณครูและศิลปินผู้เชี่ยวชาญเป็นอันมาก ต่อมาจึงได้นำความรู้ความชำนาญนั้นมาสร้างสรรค์ผลงานทั้งโดยตัวท่านเองและร่วมกับผู้อื่น ได้แก่ การสร้างบท การแสดง การกำกับการแสดง การสร้างรายการใหม่ และการจัดแสดงนาฏกรรมในต่างประเทศ ผลงานนาฏกรรมของท่านเป็นทั้งการอนุรักษ์และพัฒนาโดยการนำนาฏกรรมแบบประเพณีมาปรับปรุงด้วยหลักการให้ความรู้คู่ความบันเทิงเพื่อให้คนดูรุ่นใหม่นิยมและยังธำรงไว้ซึ่งนาฏยจารีต เสรีเป็นศิลปินนักวิชาการผู้มีความรู้และความชำนาญ ถึงพร้อมด้วยไหวพริบปฏิภาณ สามารถสร้างสรรค์อนุรักษ์และพัฒนางานนาฏกรรมแบบประเพณีให้เป็นที่นิยมอย่างกว้างขวาง กล่าวได้ว่าเสรี หวังในธรรม มีคุณูปการต่อวงการนาฏกรรม ในการสร้างการแสดงขึ้นใหม่ตามหลักนาฏยจารีต สร้างรายการแสดงใหม่ให้เป็นต้นแบบของการเพิ่มโอกาสและพื้นที่แสดง สร้างนาฏยศิลปินให้คนดูนิยมและติดตาม และสร้างคนดูให้นิยมนาฏกรรมแบบประเพณีต่อไปในอนาคต จึงได้รับการยกย่องให้เป็นศิลปินแห่งชาติสาขาศิลปะการแสดง (ศิลปะการละคร) ประจำปี 2531

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องรำโทนนกพิทิด จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมา รูปแบบกระบวนท่าและองค์ประกอบของรำโทนนกพิทิด โดยใช้วิธีวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ เน้นการวิจัยภาคสนามเป็นหลัก การสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม การสัมภาษณ์ และข้อมูลจากเอกสารเพื่อให้ได้มาซึ่งข้อมูลเชิงลึก นำมาวิเคราะห์เป็นข้อมูล ผลการศึกษามีดังนี้ ตำบลกรุงชิง อำเภอนบพิตำ จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช มีวัฒนธรรมการละเล่นรำวงที่สืบทอดกันมา เนื่องจากในสมัยจอมพล ป. พิบูลสงคราม ได้ส่งเสริมให้มีการเล่นรำโทนในหมู่ข้าราชการ ทหาร นายสร้วง จันทร์ชุม ทหารเกณฑ์กองหนุน จึงนำความรู้ประสบการณ์การรำและเพลงมาเผยแพร่ในพื้นที่กรุงชิง ต่อมาปี พ.ศ. 2484 ครูแนบ ล่องลือฤทธิ์ เป็นผู้มีทักษะพื้นฐานด้านการรำโนรา ได้เห็นและรับเอารำโทนจากตัวเมืองนครศรีธรรมราชมาพัฒนาและเผยแพร่ จึงส่งผลต่อรูปแบบ องค์ประกอบและความเชื่อที่มีใกล้เคียงกับโนรา คือก่อนเริ่มการแสดงจะต้องทำพิธีไหว้ครู การแสดงเริ่มจากการร้องเพลงเชิญ ตามด้วยเพลงไหว้ครู และจบด้วยเพลงลา มีกระบวนท่ารำที่ใช้แบบท่ามาจากท่าโนราและการตีบท เพลงแต่งโดยอิงจากธรรมชาติและวิถีชีวิตของคนในตำบลกรุงชิง โดยใช้โทนเป็นเครื่องดนตรีหลัก เครื่องแต่งกายจะสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงเอกลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่น โดยออกแบบตามภูมิปัญญาชาวบ้าน รำโทนนกพิทิดมาจากชื่อเพลงนกพิทิด เป็นเพลงเอกเน้นความตลกขบขัน ไม่เน้นความสวยงาม เป็นการแสดงให้เห็นถึงการเกี้ยวพาราสีของนกพิทิดตัวผู้ที่มีต่อตัวเมีย (นกถึดทืด) จึงเรียกการละเล่นนี้ว่า “รำโทนนกพิทิด” และผู้วิจัยได้เรียนรู้ว่าธรรมชาติ และสิ่งแวดล้อม สามารถเป็นนาฎกรรม ที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่นได้อย่างชัดเจน

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง ละครรำเรื่อง พระสุริโยทัย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อนำประวัติสมเด็จพระสุริโยทัยมาสร้างสรรค์เป็นละครรำทางละครในเพิ่มขึ้นใหม่อีกเรื่องหนึ่ง ด้วยการวิจัยแบบทดลอง จากการค้นคว้าเอกสารประวัติศาสตร์ สัมภาษณ์ ทดลองสร้างสรรค์ การวิพากษ์ จัดการแสดง และการประเมินสัมฤทธิ์ผล แล้วนำเสนอรายงานผลการวิจัยในแบบการพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ การวิจัยแบบทดลองสร้างสรรค์มีข้อปฏิบัติ 7 ประการดังนี้ 1. ศึกษาและนำเนื้อหาและบุคคลจากประวัติศาสตร์มาสร้างเป็นโครงเรื่อง สี่ฉากสำคัญที่เหมาะแก่การทดลองแสดงเป็นทางละครใน คือ ฉากลงสรงทรงเครื่อง ประคารม เกี้ยวพาราสี และตัดไม้ข่มนาม 2. แต่งบทและบรรจุเพลงให้เหมาะแก่การดำเนินเรื่อง บุคลิกตัวละครและการรำ 3. คัดเลือกผู้แสดงที่มีประสบการณ์ในการแสดงละครใน 4. เลือกสรรประยุกต์และออกแบบท่ารำกับกระบวนรำให้เหมาะแก่บุคลิกของตัวละคร 5. ปรับแปลงเครื่องแต่งกายยืนเครื่องและอุปกรณ์การแสดงบางรายการให้มีความสมจริงเชิงประวัติศาสตร์และความสะดวกในการรำ 6. ฝึกซ้อมและปรับปรุงแก้ไขข้อบกพร่องในมิติต่าง ๆ ให้สมบูรณ์ตามคำแนะนำของผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 7. จัดการแสดงและประเมินสัมฤทธิ์ผลจากผู้ร่วมงานทุกฝ่ายรวมทั้งผู้ดูและผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ ผลการวิจัยทดลองสร้างสรรค์ครั้งนี้พบว่าการนำประวัติศาสตร์มาแสดงเป็นละครรำแนวละครในนั้นสามารถทำได้ดี เพราะเนื้อเรื่องและบุคคลที่นำมาทดลองเป็นวิถีชีวิตและวีรกรรมของพระราชวงศ์ที่คล้ายคลึงกันกับสาระของละครใน องค์ประกอบการแสดงตามจารีตละครในนั้นแม้จะมีความประณีตและเคร่งครัดในการปฏิบัติ หากทดลองสร้างสรรค์โดยผู้มีความรู้ความชำนาญในการประยุกต์ใช้อย่างรอบรู้และรอบคอบก็สามารถทำได้สำเร็จตามวัตถุประสงค์ และข้อค้นพบใหม่ของการวิจัยทดลองสร้างสรรค์ฉบับนี้จะเป็นแนวทางให้เกิดการวิจัยและพัฒนาด้านเนื้อหาและรูปแบบละครรำเพื่อความก้าวหน้าทางวิชาการและวิชาชีพของนาฏกรรมไทยสืบไป

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องการรําปะเรเรของชาวญัฮกุร จังหวัดชัยภูมิ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นมา รูปแบบ และองค์ประกอบการแสดง ผู้วิจัยใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง การสัมภาษณ์ และการสังเกตการณ์แบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การรําปะเรเรของชาวญัฮกุร จังหวัดชัยภูมิ แต่เดิมเป็นการรวมตัวของชาวบ้านร้องรําทําเพลงในยามว่างหลังการทํางาน จนมีการพัฒนามาเป็นการแสดง จากการสนับสนุนของหน่วยงานภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนให้มีการเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรม ทําให้ชาวญัฮกุรมีการจัดการแสดง ในปี พ.ศ. 2566 ได้นําการแสดงพื้นเมืองญัฮกุรผสมการแสดงพื้นเมืองอีสาน และท่าเลียนแบบของมนุษย์และสัตว์ โดยแบ่งรูปแบบการแสดงออกเป็น 2 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ การแสดงบนเวที และการแสดงในขบวนแห่ เพื่อสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงประเพณี ศิลปวัฒนธรรม และการละเล่น มีองค์ประกอบของการแสดง คือ ผู้แสดงอายุระหว่าง 10 - 60 ปี นิยมแสดงเป็นคู่ แต่งกายโดยใช้เสื้อพ็อก ผ้าถุงสีแดง สร้อยลูกเดือยและดอกไม้ติดผม มีการร้องเพลง ตีโทนประกอบ และการเปิดไฟล์ดนตรีพื้นบ้านอีสานกับการตีโทน ระยะเวลาการแสดงบนเวที 5 - 6 นาที ส่วนในขบวน 40 - 60 นาที แสดงในงานส่งเสริมวัฒนธรรมและประเพณีแห่หอดอกผึ้ง โดยจะแสดงบนเวที ลานกว้างหรือเส้นทางในหมู่บ้าน โดยใช้หอดอกผึ้งจําลองหรืออุปกรณ์ตกแต่งรถแห่ในขบวนเป็นอุปกรณ์ประกอบฉาก มีท่ารำ 13 ท่า เริ่มรำท่าที่ 1 จนครบห้องเพลง แล้วเริ่มชุดท่ารําใหม่ตามลําดับจนจบการแสดงแถว 5 รูปแบบ ผลการวิจัยนี้จะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อการศึกษาด้านนาฏยศิลป์ไทยเป็นการอนุรักษ์ และสืบทอดศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นให้คงอยู่ต่อไป

วิทยานิพนธ์หัวข้อ การแสดงพระราชทานประกอบบทขับร้องพระราชนิพนธ์ ในสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ในงานปี่พาทย์ดึกดำบรรพ์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการออกแบบการแสดงพระราชทานประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ในสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ปี พ.ศ. 2559 - พ.ศ. 2565 ผู้วิจัยใช้กระบวนการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร งานวิจัย และสัมภาษณ์ผู้ที่มีส่วนร่วมในงาน ตลอดจนสังเกตการณ์ และร่วมแสดงในงานดังกล่าว ผู้วิจัยพบว่าการแสดงงานปี่พาทย์ดึกดำบรรพ์ แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วนคือ การบรรเลงวงดนตรีไทยปี่พาทย์ดึกดำบรรพ์ และการบรรเลงดนตรีไทยวงสายใยจามจุรี ประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ การแสดงประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2550 - พ.ศ. 2565 มีทั้งหมด 12 ชุดการแสดง โดยในปี พ.ศ. 2559 - พ.ศ. 2565 ภาควิชานาฏยศิลป์ ได้รับมอบหมายจากจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ให้ดำเนินการออกแบบ และจัดการแสดงประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ รวมทั้งสิ้น 5 ชุดการแสดง การแสดงประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ ให้ความบันเทิง และแฝงข้อคิดเตือนใจผู้ชมให้นำไปปฏิบัติตนได้อย่างทันสมัยตลอดเวลา พระองค์ท่านโปรดให้ใส่สำเนียงเพลงออกภาษา ในการประพันธ์ดนตรี และทรงพระราชทาน พระราชวินิจฉัย ตลอดการแสดง แนวดนตรีเน้นการประพันธ์เพลง ร่วมสมัย ผสมผสานเพลงไทยเดิมของโบราณกับประพันธ์ขึ้นใหม่ ร่วมกับวงดนตรีสากล ซียูแบรนด์ การแสดงประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์ ตีความตามบท และเลือกนำเสนอในฉากที่มีเนื้อหาโดดเด่น มีทั้งการแสดงทั้งเรื่อง ได้แก่ นเรนทราทิตย์ : วีรกษัตริย์ผู้ทรงคุณธรรม การแสดงบางช่วง ได้แก่ เพลงภาษาพาสนุก และรูปสลักหินวีรบุรุษโบราณ การแสดงระบำตอนท้าย ได้แก่ เที่ยวไปในแดนชวา การออกแบบท่ารำประกอบการแสดง มีทั้งรำใช้บท และสร้างสรรค์ท่าทางขึ้นใหม่ โดยทุกขั้นตอนการสร้างงานอยู่ในพระราชวินิจฉัย และการกำกับของกรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารีโดยตลอด นับเป็นพระมหากรุณาธิคุณอันหาที่สุดมิได้ ที่ทรงมีพระเมตตาพระราชทานบทพระราชนิพนธ์ และการแสดงประกอบ แสดงถึงพระอัจฉริยภาพอันสูงยากที่จะเปรียบได้ การแสดงประกอบบทพระราชนิพนธ์นับว่ามีคุณค่าทางด้านวิชาการ การดำเนินชีวิต และสามารถนำข้อคิดไปพัฒนาตนเองได้ตลอดเวลา อย่างไม่ล้าสมัย

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง พัฒนาการของการแสดงในงานพระนครคีรี เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาพัฒนาการของการแสดงในงานพระนครคีรี โดยมีขอบเขตของการศึกษาในครั้งนี้คือ พัฒนาการของการแสดงในงานพระนครคีรี ครั้งที่ 1 ถึงครั้งที่ 34 (ปี พ.ศ. 2529-2563) โดยศึกษาค้นคว้าและรวบรวมข้อมูลจากเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ผู้มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้อง และการสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม เพื่อนำข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์และสรุปผล ผลการวิจัยพบว่า การแสดงในงานพระนครคีรีมีการปรับเปลี่ยนและพัฒนามาอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยยังยึดการแสดงศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นในจังหวัดเพชรบุรีเป็นหลัก รูปแบบของการแสดงที่พบในงานพระนครคีรี คือ 1) โขน 2) ละคร 3) รำ 4) ระบำ 5) การแสดงพื้นบ้าน 6) การแสดงสร้างสรรค์ 7) การแสดงดนตรี 8) มหรสพต่าง ๆ โดยการแสดงจะปรากฏอยู่ในจุดต่าง ๆ ภายในงานพระนครคีรี ซึ่งผู้วิจัยจำแนกพัฒนาการของศิลปะการแสดงออกเป็น 3 ช่วง โดยแบ่งจากหน่วยงานที่ปฏิบัติงานด้านการจัดการแสดงและรูปแบบการแสดงที่ถูกปรับเปลี่ยนไปในแต่ละปี คือ ช่วงที่ 1 พ.ศ. 2529-2548 ยุคทดลอง ช่วงที่ 2 พ.ศ. 2549-2557 ยุคพัฒนา ช่วงที่ 3 พ.ศ. 2558-2563 ยุคปัจจุบัน ซึ่งงานวิจัยฉบับนี้ถือเป็นการเผยแพร่ศิลปวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่นและส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวให้กับจังหวัดเพชรบุรี รวมไปถึงยังเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้ที่สนใจจะศึกษาต่อไป

วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง นาฏยวิถีของภัทราวดี มีชูธน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานของภัทราวดี มีชูธน ศิลปินแห่งชาติ เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ด้วยระเบียบวิธีวิจัยเอกสาร การสัมภาษณ์ การสังเกตการณ์ การสังเกตการณ์แบบมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม ผลวิจัยพบว่า ชีวิตและผลงานของภัทราวดีแบ่งได้เป็น 7 ช่วงคือ (1)สั่งสมศิลปวัฒนธรรมและนาฏยศิลป์ไทยจากการเรียนและประสบการณ์ในครอบครัว (2)จากการเรียนและการแสดงในต่างประเทศ (3)การซึมซับและแสวงหาความแปลกใหม่จากการมองต่างมุมในวงการแฟชั่น (4)การสร้างความชำนาญด้วยการเข้าสู่วงการแสดงอาชีพ (5)การสร้างอาชีพการแสดงของตนเอง (6)การสร้างนักแสดงรุ่นใหม่กับแนวคิดใหม่ๆด้วยโรงเรียนการแสดงและโรงละครซึ่งเป็นพื้นที่ทดลองสร้างสรรค์ (7)สร้างแนวคิดและวิธีแสดงใหม่ด้วยการนำคุณค่าของเนื้อหารูปแบบและจารีตเดิมมาศึกษาพัฒนาจนเกิดเป็นมิติใหม่ในวงการนาฏกรรมไทย จากการวิเคราะห์ผลงานตัวอย่าง 8 เรื่องพบว่า นาฏยวิถีของภัทราวดี มีชูธน มี 10 ประการดังนี้ (1)การสร้างสรรค์โดยทำให้แตกต่างจากการแสดงจารีตเดิม (2)การใช้ปัจจัยสากลมาผสมผสานกับ"รากไทย" (3)การสร้างเนื้อหาจากวรรณกรรม เหตุการณ์ในชีวิตจริงและปัญหาสังคมรวมถึงธรรมะมาพัฒนาเป็นปัจจัยในการสร้างสรรค์ (4)การดำเนินเรื่องโดยนำสารเดิมมาตีความใหม่ด้วยมุมมองใหม่อย่างมีเหตุผล (5)การยึดหลักความสมจริงตามธรรมชาติของมนุษย์สอดคล้องกับความเป็นจริงตามธรรมชาติของโลก (6)การทำงานด้วยประชุมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ระหว่างผู้เชี่ยวชาญและผู้ร่วมงานทำให้เกิดคุณภาพในการสร้างงาน (7)การคำนึงถึงความประหยัดแต่ทรงคุณค่าทางศิลปกรรม (8)การประยุกต์ใช้พหุวัฒนธรรมโดยดำรงคุณค่าเดิมไว้ในผลงานใหม่ (9)การสร้างงานที่คำนึงถึงภูมิธรรมของคนดูเป็นหลัก (10)การสร้างงานที่สอดคล้องกับพุทธธรรมที่ว่าด้วยปรโตโฆสะและโยนิโสมนสิการ ผลวิจัยนี้สามารถนำไปพัฒนาเพื่อศึกษาชีวิตและผลงานของศิลปินผู้บุกเบิกแนวทางใหม่ ๆ ในวงการนาฏกรรมต่อไป
