T71e Triangle Factory Fire Project brin.gs to light one or the worst industrial accidents in the history of New York City. The lives of 142 young immigrant workers were lost in a literal inferno, greatly due to the lack of safety regulations within the factory. Witness statements and actuc:11 transcript from the trial of factory co-owners Max Blanck and Isaac Harris illustrate the events that brought about some of the greatest change in safety regulations in American history.

Andrea M. Grey’s thesis, Blanche Dubois: Feminist Forerunner, explores Blanche Dubois from Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire as a proto-feminist figure. Challenging traditional interpretations of Blanche as merely fragile or delusional, Grey argues that Blanche exhibits traits of modern feminism, advocating for female independence, financial self-sufficiency, and resistance to patriarchal oppression.

Blanche’s education, career as a teacher, and efforts to manage her family’s estate position her as an independent woman in a male-dominated world. Acting as the major antagonist for the first half of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Tybalt Capulet provides a unique challenge for an actor. The character's rage easily threatens to be static unless the actor can find appropriate justifications for his actions. Facing difficulty with limited textual background information, a performer undertaking the role must develop Tybalt's sense of self by drawing not only from Shakespeare's work, but also from the setting chosen by the director. Guys and Dolls: A Musical Fable of Broadway is considered a classic of the musical pantheon. As a candidate for the Master of Fine Arts in Theatre from Lindenwood University, I am required to participate in a production as a leading part. The purpose of this written thesis is to document my journey. as the director, from script to final dress rehearsal; after that the performance belongs to the actors and technical crew. During this journey I collaborated with a team of designers, artists and a mentor. I opened my mind and my experience to their expertise, leadership and artistic license. ln this documentation is my concept. my vision, my heart, and my process step-by-step resulting in the performance that I humbly present as my interpretation of Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things.

A Scenic Design For Neil Labute's The Shape Of Things, Barbara L. Mcgowan

The Shape of Things is not a play that would use a traditional box set. The biggest challenge was trying to create and then draft a non-traditional set that could be used for ten distinct locations. This paper is an analysis of the play from the perspective of a scenic designer. It includes past production information, an in-depth look at how religion affects the story and a journal following the show from design to strike. The appendices included various images rejected and/or used for the projection screens, design plans used for construction and photos from the production.

A Midsummer Night's Dream: Designing Non-Traditional Costumes For Shakespeare, Wes Jenkins

Theses

Designing the costumes for a Shakespearean play is a daunting task. Herein, I explain the challenges I faced in designing the costumes for A Midsummer Night~· Dream when it was taken out of the Elizabethan world of Shakespeare and set in World War l. Through careful attention to textual clues and period research, I was able to make unique, non-traditional design choices that reinforced the narrative. l describe techniques used in the construction of the costumes, as well as explain the difficulties associated with creating many costumes with limited staff.
