The playbill for Taylor University’s Fall 1935 performance of Smilin’ Through by Jane Cowl and Jane Murfin (under the pseudonym, Allan Langdon Martin).

Smilin’ Through tells the story of a young Irish woman, Kathleen Dungannon and her romantic relationship with Kenneth Wayne, which is opposed by her adopted father, still bitter about a failed relationship with Kathleen’s aunt years before.

Dust was an experimental student publication printed in 1934 by two Brown students under the direction of a local printing company. It featured contributions from Brown, Pembroke, and RISD students. The May 1934 issue features work from the following RISD students: a wood engraving by John Goss, a lineoleum cut by Lawrence Hoffman, a poem by Jessie Cole, a linoleum cut by Adelaide Koch, and a linoleum cut by Lisette Micoleau.
