Texas Moon Danceland is a west Texas daylight bar that caters to the regional clientele of bored housewives, chicken farmers, would be country stars and dream chasers who let the neon moon fill their washed out lives. As the dancing starts and the lights begin to whirl, the Texas moon will sweep you into the comic, fragile lives of these people.

In this sparkling satire, Reynard is brought to trial for his offenses against the other animals. He is given a year of probation, in which to mend his ways. But the playful fox cannot resist the opportunity to trick his fellows. He accumulates a long list of misdeeds before the year is half up. Enraged by this, the wolf and the bear lead a conspiracy against him and actually have the noose around his neck when the hunters close in, trapping all the animals. This musical celebration contains some sixty songs selected from the hundreds written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for their Broadway musicals and films. The songs are woven together in a tight and tasteful fashion so that the entertainment never lags. Sentimental standards like “Where or When,” “Blue Moon” and “With a Song in My Heart” are followed by the humorous twists of “To Keep My Love Alive” or the wry comments of “Give It Back to the Indians.”

The most significant characteristic of the department of theatre arts at Wright State University is that it has chosen to be a comprehensive but exclusively undergraduate department. Because the twenty faculty and professional staff are graduates of universities who offer advanced degrees, we are all aware of how an undergraduate student can be pushed aside in favor of the older, more mature graduate student. This is, in part, the reason for the deliberate decision to teach undergraduate students only.

Season 1980-1981

The play is composed of three acts, each involving different characters but all set in Suite 719 of New York City's Plaza Hotel. The first act, Visitor From Mamaroneck, introduces the audience to not-so-blissfully wedded couple Sam and Karen Nash, who are revisiting their honeymoon suite in an attempt by Karen to bring the love back into their marriage. Her plan backfires and the two become embroiled in a heated argument about whether or not Sam is having an affair with his secretary. The act ends with Sam leaving (allegedly to attend to urgent business) and Karen sadly reflecting on …

Paint Your Wagon is a Broadway musical comedy, with book and lyrics by Alan J. Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe. The story centers on a miner and his daughter and follows the lives and loves of the people in a mining camp in Gold Rush-era California. Popular songs from the show included "Wand'rin' Star", "I Talk to the Trees", and "They Call the Wind Maria".
