The best laid plans go awry when the cast and crew of a Broadway-bound play resort to manipulation, diva-like behavior, and chaotic abandon to get what they want. Fledgling playwright Jerry Przpezniak and his fiancee are a couple of Buffalo greenhorns suddenly swept up in the whirlwind of New York's theater scene when Jerry's play is optioned for the big money, ego-driven world of Broadway. It's a young playwright's dream, but the crazy characters and dilemmas they encounter are the things theatrical nightmares are made of.

As a fight choreographer it is my responsibility to sit down with the director and discover her/his vision for the production. Similarly, actors need to serve the script and work with the choreographer in connecting the action to the playwright’s words. Each preceding article, relating to the exploration of the skills proficiency tests (SPTs), has offered tools for connecting the scripts, stories, and characters with the language of the choreography. Jeanne d’Arc is a one-woman theatrical work, written, produced, and performed as Megan Dobbertin’s Capstone Project. Its intention is to explore religious conflict. How does something like organized religion, which was created to be a force of peace and order in a chaotic world, get twisted into violence and discord? All major organized religions profess to be founded on a basis of peace, tolerance, unity, and love. How then do we have notions such as the crusade or the jihad?
