La muerte de Javier Marías en 2022 ha convertido de manera fortuita Tomás Nevinson (2021) en el colofón de una extraordinaria trayectoria literaria que cumplía cincuenta años con esta novela. Es posible apreciar en ella la culminación de los grandes ejes de pensamiento que se han venido desarrollando a lo largo de décadas en esta obra, más característica por dejar preguntas abiertas que por proponer respuestas. The discussion surrounding the US-Mexico Border has remained a central issue in American politics throughout recent decades, with anti-immigrant attitudes being more prevalent than ever. The increasing support for border militarization and immigration restrictions exemplifies an American public that lacks an accurate understanding of the implications of militarizing the US-Mexico border. In 2007, Nuria Azancot published an article in the magazine El Cultural in which she identified a burgeoning group of Spanish writers that she referred to as the “Nocilla Generation.” The catalyst behind the article was a literary reunion that took place weeks before in Seville and brought together authors from all parts of Spain to talk about the status and future of writing. She described them as “transgressors” and “bloggers” who hybridized literary genres and held a revolutionary approach to the literary that was clearly marked by the Internet. Winner of the first Premio Nadal in 1945, Nada, the first published work of then-unknown author Carmen Laforet, has remained a captivating, yet elusive work of Spanish literature. Since its very publication, readers, critics, and even censors have debated the true emancipatory message (or lack there of) within the pseudo-autobiographical, confessional work. While the majority of critics maintain the novel’s characterization as a feminist, female bildungsroman, dissenters cite traces of palimpsestic ennui mediated by the novel’s complex narrative schema as reason to believe otherwise. Estas páginas exploran dos de las obras del poeta Jesús Hilario Tundidor, desde la perspectiva de la imagen tradicional de la peregrinatio vitae, tan importante en la literatura española del Siglo de Oro, así como en el seno de las relaciones entre la biografía y la literatura. El poeta se dibuja como un lector reflexivo de la poesía clásica, de cuya pluma se desprende una constante preocupación teórica por la naturaleza de la palabra y el lenguaje. Se trata del único estudio filológico dedicado a la obra Escalada (2006), que ayuda a comprender mejor la trayectoria del poeta.

This article aims to examine how spatiality structures the psyche and ideology of the protagonist, Pedro, of Miguel Delibes' novel La sombra del cipres es alargada, as seen in his internal monologues and his relationships with others. Spatial references become pivotal not only in the development of the action but also in Pedro's personal development and in the articulation of existential concepts.

Cervantes And The Reinvention Of The Picaresque Narrative In The Novelas Ejemplares, Mark J. Mascia

This article presents an analysis of a number of stories in Miguel de Cervantes' Novelas Ejemplares, illustrating how he experimented with and altered the picaresque narrative by openly incorporating many elements of the genre into this work. This article shows how Cervantes is not a purely canonical picaresque author, but rather a quasi- or semi-picaresque writer, inventing what might be called Cervantine picaresque literature.

My purpose has been to give a historical description of the Libro de buen amor . This I have it expedient to do by creating four broad categories: First, a brief introduction to the author and book; second, generalities about Juan Ruiz' attitude toward love; third, illustrations in respect to characterization, human behavior, local color, proverbs, and apologues; and fourth, a classification of the comedy of the work.
