Epistolary activity dates to Ancient Greece in affinity with the Roman tradition in which the missive was the most efficient means of communication at a distance. An erudite knowledge of the subject was required since the content would be recorded in posterity. Polymathy and epistemology were therefore required in daily practice of writing encyclicals from the society of Medieval era up to the pinnacle of the epistolary genre during Humanism. The tertulia provided women with a path into the political and social climate of Spain. This research examines the role of women in tertulias, specifically exploring primary documents from the Academia del Buen Gusto and analyzing them for their depiction of Enlightenment ideals and women. La producción literaria del escritor y pedagogo catalán Emili Teixidor es reconocida por su misión pedagógica. Su labor consistía en la creación de una literatura dirigida al público lector infantil y juvenil con objetivos pedagógicos específicos para formar lectores ágiles. Teixidor no se limitó a la población lectora infantil y juvenil, también produjo literatura dirigida a adultos. De su producción literaria para adultos, destaca Pan negro (2003), novela galardonada con varios premios, entre estos el premio Joan Crexells al mejor libro en 2003 y llevada a la pantalla grande en 2011 por el director Agustín Villaronga.

Esta tesis utiliza la interseccionalidad como lente para hacer un análisis de los textos culturales y activistas para explicar cómo se manifiestan las ideas feministas en estos dos períodos cruciales de avance del feminismo en España: el primer cuarto del siglo veinte y las primeras décadas del siglo veintiuno. Para una perspectiva teórica del feminismo interseccional, analizo tres obras subversivas sobre la época franquista/posfranquista hacía la transición hacia la democracia en España. Este análisis interseccional toma en cuenta la variedad de factores que contribuyen a la discriminación que afronta una persona. Las obras analizadas son dos novelas (Las hogueras de Concha Álos y Las edades de Lulú de Almudena Grandes) y una película (El Calentito de Chus Gutiérrez). Estos tres trabajos revelan las expresiones de la sexualidad de las mujeres que vivieron durante estos períodos y demuestran un cambio significativo en el discurso sexual español.

This project focuses on the cultural transformation taking place in Spain in the period between 1962 and 1976, examined through the works of filmmaker Jordi Grau (Barcelona, 1930). This research invites the opportunity to assemble a cultural study that includes subjects such as national identity, realist film aesthetics, avant-garde films, and horror films. In addition, it observes some of Grau’s work in conjunction with gender studies and pop culture.
