También tiene el sol menguante is a refundición of Mira de Amescua's two-part drama, La próspera y la adversa fortuna de don Bernardo de Cabrera, concerning the famous fourteenth-century favorite of Pedro IV of Aragon. The purpose of this dissertation is to provide a clear text of the play, along with thorough textual notes.

My purpose has been to give a historical description of the Libro de buen amor . This I have it expedient to do by creating four broad categories: First, a brief introduction to the author and book; second, generalities about Juan Ruiz' attitude toward love; third, illustrations in respect to characterization, human behavior, local color, proverbs, and apologues; and fourth, a classification of the comedy of the work.
