(In Spanish) The Spanish Civil war isn't over in the hearts and minds of the people of Spain; rather, it is still being fought in the ideological realm of historical memory. Originally explored in literature and film, the theme of historical memory has not only become more visible and more explicit, but has taken the leap from art and literature into the political realm to become one of Spain's most pressing political issues.

A description and analysis of concurrent literary movements and themes accompanies the translation, placing “Una influencia criminal” into a literary context with the multinational movements known as McOndo and Generation X. Although at times an arduous task, translation is gaining respect in the United States as cultures combine into one melting pot. "En la novela Yo-Yo Boing Giannina Braschi plantea un bilingüismo e identidad nomádica. Huye del concepto de permanencia y arraigo, definiéndose en sus personajes como un ser errante y proponiendo una yuxtaposición lingüística propia. Braschi utiliza un code-switching para subrayar la complejidad de vivir simultáneamente en más de una cultura y una lengua. El concepto teórico que da impulso a este artículo es la definición sobre la conciencia nómada que plantea Rosi Braidotti. "This project investigates the image of Spain's Camino de Santiago (The Way of Saint James) from a historical and literary point of view and in light of theories of space. It is postulated that the Camino serves as a dramatic space, a type of theatrical stage that serves as an integral backdrop for the production of many literary pieces throughout time. This stage set, or the image of the Camino, changes with the political and social ambiance of the historical moment.
