The improv language exercises in this compilation are chosen from the experience I gathered 20 years ago, but also from the amazing work of Lauren Esposito and Scranton Improv & Comedy that have been more real than anything else to me this past summer, and from Jim Ansaldo, who taught me how to structure improv exercises online. They are organized by level, referring to the Common European Framework of References for Languages. Within the context of Franco Spain, academic scholarship has proven that the regime manipulated collective history via both active remembering and active forgetting in order to construct legitimacy and a national identity. Moreover, much of the regime’s mythology was based on predetermined concepts of gender difference that was exacerbated by the influence of the Catholic church. In this way, what it meant to be female during the Franco dictatorship was a large part of what came to be the nationalized-gender-mythology of the regime, or rather – myths that constructed the Franco-female. In this paper we explore the contribution of Kirmen Uribe, a Basque writer, artist and cultural activist, to the process of political reconciliation in the Basque country, a socially transforming compromise brought about by the dissolution of the Basque terrorist organization ETA in October 20^th, 2011. Uribe achieved literary recognition and public notoriety within the Iberian cultural landscape with the publication of his novel Bilbao-New York-Bilbao in 2008, for which he received the Spanish National Literature Prize for Narrative in the following year. A group of Hispanophone Sahrawi poets founded their own Generación de la Amistad ‘Friendship Generation’ in Madrid in 2005. Ever since, Sahrawi poetry in Spanish has found in the anthology an ideal format to present itself to the Spanish reader, counting more than a dozen publications of poetry collections. Such profusion has nothing to do with the struggle for the cultural hegemony characteristic of other currents within the Spanish poetic field. By contrast, these collections keep to the anthologists’ double logic of cultural preservation and literary activism, which emphasize the communitarian character of their poetry. One of the consequences of the 2008 financial crisis was that many young college graduates from the Spanish state left the country, faced with unemployment rates over 40% at home. Whereas Spanish economic growth before the crisis had pushed the narrative that a young generation was predisposed to transnational circulation, the experience of migration challenged the identification of large transnational cities as sites of emancipatory modernization. The global economic crisis of 2008-9 had an especially severe impact on Spain and resulted in the publication of many works of literature that address the effects and the causes of the crisis. Daniel Macías Díaz and Antonio Rómar, two contemporary Spanish poets, belong to different artistic generations, yet their response to the devastation caused by the economic collapse centers on a rejection of the neoliberal worldview that inspired the creation of the current economic system. The poets question the rhetoric of fluidity and mobility that accompanies the implantation of the neoliberal world order and call for the creation of …

This article examines the critical work of two distinguished Peruvian intellectuals: Susana Reisz and Rocío Silva Santisteban. Specifically, I analyze those texts that approach the relation between women and literature from theoretical perspectives, with particular emphasis given to texts about poetry that define feminine writing and women’s literature. In the case of Susana Reisz I start with the book Teoría Literaria. Una propuesta (1986) and finish with the article “¿El premio será otra carrera? Despite presenting a widespread threat during the Golden Age, the plague was rarely dramatized in comedias. Lope de Vega’s El ganso de oro serves as a notable exception to this general trend. With its blending of genres, from the pastoral to the palatial with a strong dose of magic, the play provides insight into life during such a time of pestilence. The current COVID-19 health crisis suggests a new reading of the work, which has previously suffered from a lack of critical attention. A través de su poesía, en particular las obras Antídoto (2017) y Libro das mentiras (2012), la autora universaliza la experiencia íntima del dolor y la pérdida a la vez que explora la identidad femenina dentro de contextos patriarcales alienantes.
