Universal Rules Of The Russian Sound Verbs’ Synthesis: Representation In A Matrix Of Forms, Irina V. Ivliyeva

English Abstract:

The article is devoted to the construction of a system of universal rules for the synthesis of modified verbs of the Russian language and ways of presenting them in a matrix table of forms. The aim of the study is to identify parameters of the sound process relevant for predicting the composition of modified sound verbs’ nests, and in developing a system of rules of word-formation synthesis. The research material consisted of 152 base verbs of sound in the Russian language and their 880 modified derivatives.

This study investigates the development of multi-dimensional morphological profiles of Russian verbs of sounds, namely their participles, by integrating web-scraping methodologies and advanced digital visualization tools that is convenient and effective for a linguistic researcher.

In the small nation of Latvia, the eastern city of Daugavpils has been left behind. Three hours from the bustling European capitals of Riga, Vilnius and Minsk, it was historically the trade hub between Russia and Western Europe, once giving it a fascinating ethnographic makeup as well as an important regional position. It remains the largest majority Russian-speaking city in the European Union and NATO, but suffers from its geographical and economic isolation on top of a declining and aging population. цель статьи – провести структурно-семантический анализ авторской таблицы веб-извлечения глагольных форм. Матричная таблица форм глаголов звучания рассматривается как инновационный лексикографический инструмент, обладающий способностью не только фиксировать уже существующие единицы, но и выявлять потенциальные формы глаголов, находящиеся за пределами кодификационных норм. Работа направлена на описание структуры, принципов построения и способов наполнения данной таблицы. Проводится сопоставление с традиционными лексикографическими источниками. Особое внимание уделяется семантическому значению незаполненных ячеек, способности таблицы к синтезу новых форм и её потенциалу как прогностического инструмента в сфере лексики, словообразования и словообразовательного синтеза.

The Al Harris Library received a donation of the archive of retired astronaut General Thomas P. Stafford. The continually growing collection includes over 200 boxes containing NASA reports, professional and personal pictures, videos, and more. Part of the collection is the approximately 700 books used for research by Stafford and his co-author Michael Cassutt to write the memoir We Have Capture: Tom Stafford and the Space Race (2002). Half of these books are a collection of Soviet-era Russia (USSR) space program books and periodicals written in Russian. цель статьи – представить новые подходы к построению терминологического словаря. Рассматривается идея создания наиболее полного справочника по синтезу русского глагола, в структуру которого интегрирована обучающая база. Через микро- и макроструктуру словаря пользователь полу-чает необходимые инструменты для решения актуальных задач синтеза. Раз-работанные алгоритмы представляют собой этапы решения поставленной за-дачи: от микроструктуры словаря к приложениям и блокам глагольных форм в макроструктуре. This project aims to enhance web extraction techniques pertaining to a specific lexical-semantic group of Russian verbs of sounds, which undergo semantic modifications at the word-formation level (affixation). Additionally, it seeks to organize search results in a manner conducive to linguistic research using Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) techniques and novel visualization strategies.

This project attempts not only to improve the method of web extraction in relation to the source material (lexical-semantic group of Russian sound verbs, semantically modified at the word-forming level) but also systematize the search results using the format that is convenient and effective for a linguistic researcher. The main tasks at this stage of the research were to collect, compile (combine results), analyze and present a summary index of all possible verbal forms of sound verbs, recorded in electronic versions of dictionaries of the Russian language and in the database of the Russian National Corpus (RNC).

In this study, we delve into the public diplomacy discourse of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the ongoing crisis of the Russo-Ukrainian War. We aim to conduct a computational analysis of Zelenskyy's English, Russian, and Ukrainian speeches, exploring the linguistic patterns and code-switching employed in his discourse. The study period encompasses Russia’s build-up to and full-scale invasion of Ukraine from May 2019 to May 30, 2023. Modern Russian dictionaries do not include all possible forms of words. To compile such an index, even for one part of a speech, on paper is not technically feasible. With the appearance of electronic versions of dictionaries, however, for the first time we can try to create an inventory of all possible forms for the lexical-semantic group of Russian sound verbs, using the web-scraping methodology. The purpose of the study is to present the terminology of word-formation synthesis as an organized system and identify the stages of development of its relevant terms. The scientific novelty of the study resides in the fact that a structured corpus of word-formation synthesis terms with elements of definitional analysis is introduced into scientific usage. This article reflects on possible ways of incorporating the practices and tools of pandemic-induced remote teaching into the post-pandemic face-to-face teaching of Russian. We posit that a large number of the tools and practices that face-to-face teachers adopted during the pandemic will continue to be useful and effective for accomplishing fundamental pedagogical imperatives such as curating learners’ access to input and providing opportunities for learners to interact with that input.
