Ancestral Beliefs And Practices: A Program For Developing Christian Faith Among Adventists In Zimbabwe, Zebron Masukume Ncube
Ancestral Beliefs And Practices: A Program For Developing Christian Faith Among Adventists In Zimbabwe, Zebron Masukume Ncube
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem. Every Seventh-day Adventist pastor in Zimbabwe at one time or another has had to deal with a situation where church members consult their ancestors when threatened by sickness, death, misfortune, or a series of tragedies. The Adventist church correctly takes a strong stand against ancestral practices. Despite such a stand the ancestral practices have persisted among many Adventists. Paradoxically, while church members are given the correct teaching before baptism, many continue to regard the ancestors as the court of appeal in times of crisis. This study is undertaken to understand the nature of this traditional religion in order to …
An Approach To A Holistic Ministry In A Seventh-Day Adventist Urban Church In Uganda, Nathaniel Mumbere Walemba
An Approach To A Holistic Ministry In A Seventh-Day Adventist Urban Church In Uganda, Nathaniel Mumbere Walemba
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem. The SDA church in Uganda started in rural areas among rural people. But the situation has changed. Although the majority of the church membership nationwide is still rural, a large percentage is now urban in the real sense of the word. Moreover, it is estimated that by the year 2000, membership in city churches will have doubled. This urbanised membership requires an urbanized approach to ministry. Furthermore, as in any developing country, Ugandan urbanites have many needs which can be met only by a holistic approach to ministry. This study is undertaken to make a contribution toward achieving that …
A Study Of Creative Conflict Management And Christian Reconciliation With A Proposed Seminar For Seventh-Day Adventist Ministers In The Caribbean And West Indies Unions, Winston Anthony Richards
A Study Of Creative Conflict Management And Christian Reconciliation With A Proposed Seminar For Seventh-Day Adventist Ministers In The Caribbean And West Indies Unions, Winston Anthony Richards
Doctor of Ministry Projects
An important field of expanding interest is the management of differences in the church. Changes have taken place which challenge the very existence and fibre of organizational structure and relationship growth in the church setting. There are several reasons for the increasing need for efficiency in the field of conflict management. One basic reason is the potential for dysfunctional and functional effects that conflict can have on any congregation. Adequate conflict management can prove to be a critical skill for the healthy management of differences. Consequently, potential and practicing ministers need special and continuing training in this field. It was …
A History In Missiological Perspective Of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church In Japan From 1945 To 1985, Tadaomi Shinmyo
A History In Missiological Perspective Of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church In Japan From 1945 To 1985, Tadaomi Shinmyo
Doctor of Ministry Projects
The purpose of this project is to study missiologically the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church history in Japan after World War II, because it has been often said that the Japanese church membership has not grown so fast as other countries in the Far Eastern Division. Why is the SDA mission so difficult in the country? In order to solve the problem, I surveyed, analyzed, and interpreted descriptively the work of the church.
After dealing with an overview of the prewar and postwar political, geographical, economic, social, and religious conditions of the country, the postwar church history was divided into four …

Attitudes And Approaches To The Evangelization Of Muslims In The Middle East, Ray Lee Roth
Attitudes And Approaches To The Evangelization Of Muslims In The Middle East, Ray Lee Roth
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem. Although programs for evangelizing Muslims have been studied and proposed at all levels of church organization, until now few if any of these studies or proposals have led to successful evangelization of Muslims in the Middle East countries. It was the purpose of this present study to develop biblically sound attitudes and approaches to Muslim evangelization for the use of administrators, teachers, pastors, and other church members in the Middle East.
Method. Writings of the New Testament and of selected past and present authors have been investigated in order to identify principles and attitudes of evangelism as they might …

Religious Tv Spots: Guidelines For Developing A Mass Media And Follow-Up Strategy, Assad Bechara
Religious Tv Spots: Guidelines For Developing A Mass Media And Follow-Up Strategy, Assad Bechara
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Problem. Television is being regarded by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brazil as a new avenue for evangelism. Since research indicates that one of the most effective formats for TV evangelism is the TV spot, this project suggests the use of thirty-second TV spots as a viable means of evangelism in the Brazilian context. The project further recommends principles for the development of a TV-spot series to be used along with a media mix and a follow-up program conducted by youth groups.
Method. An analysis of the history of God's communication with mankind reveals several principles that can be applied …

Worship Attitudes Of Seventh-Day Adventist Churchgoers At Montemorelos, Mexico, Jaime Cruz
Doctor of Ministry Projects
Considering that the subject of worship is of very unique significance to the Seventh-day Adventist church, the writer proposed to determine with respect to the Seventh-day Adventist churches in Montemorelos, Mexico, the following: 1. The attitudes of the church members toward public corporate worship. 2. The church members' understanding and awareness of the value of the various components in public corporate worship. 3. The church members' ability to correct erroneous concepts concerning public corporate worship.
The study was an important undertaking for the following reasons: 1. There is a dearth of worship material in the Spanish language. 2. It would …
Factors Related To The Brain Drain From The Middle East Union Of The Afro-Mideast Division, Najeeb W. Nakhle
Factors Related To The Brain Drain From The Middle East Union Of The Afro-Mideast Division, Najeeb W. Nakhle
Doctor of Ministry Projects
The migration of the trained national Seventh-day Adventist Church workers is one of the most critical problems facing present-day church administrators in the Middle East Union of the Afro-Mideast Division. Because of this migration a serious shortage of trained personnel exists at various levels of the work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in this union. This shortage results from the brain drain which not only causes losses in educated, experienced, and gifted personnel who are difficult to replace, but is also responsible for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Middle East Union losing members.
The purpose of this study is …
