The present study explores and examines the views of Fiqh scholars regarding matters related to the wife’s alimony during the waiting period in cases of divorce or death, with particular emphasis on the methods of its payment. These opinions are then compared to the relevant articles in the Jordanian Marital Status Law to identify similarities and differences in relation to traditional Fiqh sources. The present study examines certain provisions in the Divorce Section of Jordanian Marital Status Law No. 36 of 2010, in which legislative choices diverge from those made by mainstream scholars within the four Fiqh schools. The study investigates the intentions of the Jordanian legislator through a review of this section. It is found that there are only three such cases, which notably present a different perspective. This study aimed to test the impact of corporate governance on risk disclosure levels in Jordanian Islamic banks. It analyzed the content of financial reports from Jordanian Islamic banks listed on the Amman Stock Exchange during the period from 2012 to 2017. The effects of corporate governance and various control variables on risk disclosure were measured using Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis. ABSTRACT This dissertation examines the concept of sovereignty in classical Islamic political thought through a comparative analysis of three major thinkers—al-Māwardī (d. 450/1058), al-Juwaynī (d. 478/1085), and al-Fārābī (d. 339/950)—each representing a distinct epistemic tradition: jurisprudence (fiqh), speculative theology (kalām), and philosophy (falsafa). Employing a conceptual and textual methodology, the study reconstructs a theory of distributed sovereignty in Islamic thought, in which political authority is not centralized in a singular sovereign but dispersed across three interrelated domains: legitimate authority, lawgiving, and governance. Drawing on classical Confucian sources—especially the praxis-oriented interpretation of Wang Yangming—and foundational Islamic texts and commentary, the study demonstrates that both traditions posit an inborn moral faculty grounding ethical universality and responsibility.
