Moral And Ethical Nature In Confucian Liang-Zhi And Islamic Fitra: Comparative Perspectives On Innate Morality, Yanrong Shi

This article offers a comparative philosophical analysis of Confucian liang-zhi (innate moral knowledge) and Islamic fitra(primordial nature), focusing on their accounts of innate morality and moral epistemology. Drawing on classical Confucian sources—especially the praxis-oriented interpretation of Wang Yangming—and foundational Islamic texts and commentary, the study demonstrates that both traditions posit an inborn moral faculty grounding ethical universality and responsibility. Wang Yangming’s liang-zhi is conceived as an innate moral principle that, under the imperative of zhi (to actualize or extend), is continually activated through moral practice. Following Aristotle, al-Farabi divides philosophy into theoretical and practical each of which requires some specific methodology both in interpretation and cognition. Based on this division, there may arguably be four methodologies for four parts: 1) cognition of theoretical philosophy 2) interpretation of practical philosophy 3) cognition of practical philosophy 4) interpretation of practical philosophy. This paper focuses on the last one: the methodology of interpreting practical philosophy. Studies the threefold hierarchy of certainty, from its origins in Mahāyāna Buddhism, through Islam, to 17th century China. This tripartite scheme may be traced back to the ancient Buddhist scheme of the threefold wisdom as systematized by Vasubandhu of Gandhāra in the 4th-5th centuries CE. Following the advent of Islam in the 8th century, it was combined with Qur'anic notions of certainty (al-yaqīn). In his seminal Orientalism and Religion (1999), Richard King argues that Western scholars of religion have constructed a conceptual dichotomy between “mysticism” and “rationality” that has caused them to systematically distort the claims and arguments of Eastern thinkers. While King focuses primarily on Western scholarship on the Buddhist and Hindu traditions, this essay shows that his argument can also be extended to apply to Western scholarship on al-Ghazālī, whose sympathy for Sufism and apparent rejection of Greek philosophy has often earned him the reputation of being a champion of Islamic mysticism. This study aims to determine the development and trend map of fiqh on finance published by Scopus-indexed journals in the theme of Islamic economics and finance. The data analyzed were 547 publications of document publications. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the R Bibliometrix application program to find out the bibliometric map of the fiqh on finance research development. The results showed that the number of publications on fiqh’s theme on finance experienced a significant increase. This scientometric study investigates the current state of various studies on the Islamic moral economy published by journals equipped with a digital-object-identifier. The analysis is focused on descriptions of the characteristics and trends of keywords, authors and journals. The data analyzed were 182 research publications in Dimensi (https://dimension.ai). The search used to determine the research dataset was last updated on January 9, 2021. This study aims to determine the development map and trend of halal transportation published by well-known journals with Islamic economics and finance. The data were analyzed from 50 Scopus indexed research publications. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the R Biblioshiny application program to determine the bibliometric map of the development of halal transportation researchs. This study presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) related to the Islamic Endowment Fund (Waqf) contained in reputable journals indexed by the Australian Business Dean Council (ABDC). The choice of articles began with a search for articles related to waqf and found 538 articles related to waqf. After a series of the selection process was carried out, there were only 20 articles. The research stages divide into three parts, namely planning, conducting, and reporting. SLR research in this waqf is interesting because we will know where the research position is currently developing.

Maqāsid al-Shariʿah has been typically defined as the objectives behind the Islamic rulings or the Shariʿah higher intent. This knowledge is very important for the mujtahids and Islamic scholars not only to understand or interpret the Shariʿah legal texts, but also to deduce solutions for contemporary problems faced by Muslims. This research investigated a model of the effect of information literacy, media literacy, moral literacy, and learning & thinking skills as the construct of e-literacy maturity level through information behavior (IB) on prophetic-liberation communication behavior (P-LCB). The model was constructed based on social cognitive theory (SCT) and uses and gratifications theory (UGT). P-LCB is an applied model of ethical values in the Qur’an that liberates humans from social injustice and misuse of information and communication technology.
