Hinduism And Holy People, Nancy M. Martin
Hinduism And Holy People, Nancy M. Martin
Religious Studies Faculty Books and Book Chapters
"In Hinduism, there are both a relatively large number and a wide array of types of people considered holy. Such people are deemed to be spiritually advanced, having reached the highest levels of spiritual realization, and to have the power to guide others toward that realization. They are thus treated with respect and reverence. A person can be transformed merely by being in their presence through the experience of darshan (both seeing and being seen by a holy person), even as a person can be transformed by being in the presence of deity. Such holy people may be seen to …

Spirituality In Limbo: An Observation And Analysis Of Mongolia’S Modern Religious Climate, Dustin Saldarriaga
Spirituality In Limbo: An Observation And Analysis Of Mongolia’S Modern Religious Climate, Dustin Saldarriaga
Independent Study Project (ISP) Collection
This paper is essentially a history of religion in Mongolia with the purpose of illuminating the present state of religion at a socially, culturally, and politically unique point in Mongolia’s history. It has only been fourteen years since Mongolia experienced a political transition from totalitarianism to democracy, and the country now finds itself in a kind of “Limbo” with respect to not only the political state of the nation, but also the spiritual state of its individuals. The result is a religious climate filled with uncertainty and speculation, but also with passion and love. I attempt to explore this current …

Geza Vermes And The Third Quest For The Historical Jesus: A Review Essay On ‘Jesus In His Jewish Context’, Gary R. Habermas
Geza Vermes And The Third Quest For The Historical Jesus: A Review Essay On ‘Jesus In His Jewish Context’, Gary R. Habermas
Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (1973-2015)
During the last few decades, the subject of the historical Jesus has once again moved into the center of scholarly studies among New Testament historians, exegetes, and theologians. In stark contrast to the movements of the nineteenth and mid-twentieth century, which exhibited very different concerns, the chief focus of the third quest for the historical Jesus is the Jewish background, setting, and context for Jesus' life and teachings. In addition to Jesus' teachings, the social sciences have supplied much of the backdrop regarding Jesus' surroundings.

What Do You Mean “Truth Through Personality”? The Phillips Brooks Definition Of Preaching In Historical Context, Austin B. Tucker
What Do You Mean “Truth Through Personality”? The Phillips Brooks Definition Of Preaching In Historical Context, Austin B. Tucker
Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (1973-2015)
Applying historical-grammatical hermeneutics to the Brooks definition of preaching as truth through personality helps us hear Brooks say that the sum of all truth is Christ. His truth does not stand in indifference to his person as some theologians insisted. By personality Brooks stressed not only the divine person of Christ but also the preacher” character. The contemporary usage of both words, the eight lectures in context, and the colorful history of the 1870” tell the story.

Neutrosophic Dialogues, Florentin Smarandache, Feng Liu
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
Thanks to Dr. Smarandache for his interest in Chinese culture. I cannot decline his warm request to write the preface, even with my fragments of knowledge – no insight nor wisdom, and therefore can be misleading. I have been extremely regretful for my ideological errors and mistakes in previous publications, especially those concerning Buddhism. As I mentioned in this book, I am not qualified. So please note that I am limited in my knowledge and enlightenment of the giant of Chinese heritage. I can express nothing more than my personal bias. In what aspect can Chinese culture be distinctive from …
