Marriage is generally accepted to be a contract by which two persons, man and woman, bind themselves to live together, in an indissoluble union until death. With this definition we iterate the properties of marriage, unity, and indissolubility. Such were the properties of marriage at the time of Adam and Eve, and such must be its nature today. As long as husband and wife live in such a union the properties of marriage are not transgressed against. The history of …
