The year 1991 was the 200th anniversary year of the construction of the Cane Ridge Meetinghouse by a Presbyterian congregation in frontier Kentucky. To celebrate this event, the Disciples of Christ Historical Society hosted a number of special events, including lectures and addresses on the legacy of Barton W. Stone as well as on the background and meaning of the revival. This volume brings together several of these addresses and the chapters are arranged to proceed from reflections upon the various ways Barton W. Statement of the Problem

Pentecostal historian Vinson Synan estimates that Pentecostals now comprise the largest family of Protestants in the world. Drawing from the World Christian Encyclopedia) he concludes that Pentecostalism now claims a total of 51,167,000 adherents, not including an additional11,000,000 independent charismatics. This places the Pentecostal/Independent Charismatic movement significantly ahead of classical groups such as the Anglicans (49,804,000adherents), Baptists (47,550,000) and Lutherans (43,460,-This figure grows even larger when the "Third-Wave “phenomenon is included. Principles For Reorganization Of The Seventh-Day Adventist Administrative Structure, 1888-1903 Implications For An International Church, Barry David Oliver

This study investigates the process of reorganization of the administrative structures of the Seventh-day Adventist Church between 1888 and 1903. From the findings of the investigation are drawn some implications which relate to the need for contemporary denominational structures that accommodate and facilitate the mission of the church. The first three chapters present a documentary account of the process of reorganization. Chapter one places the study within the context of the nineteenth-century American Protestant missionary movement.
