The 1991 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association met at Zion Baptist Church in Shelby, NC and Polkville Baptist Church in Polkville, NC. The minutes are dedicated to the memory of Dr. T. Max Linnens and in honor of Rev. Cline W. Borders and Rev. Robert G. Davis, Sr. New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church was the first Black church to be accepted into membership of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association. A new staff position, Church Development Director, was approved.

Natural Law & Right Reason In The Moral Theory Of St. Thomas Aquinas, Craig Boyd

A major problem with current discussions on the moral theory of St. Thomas Aquinas is the fact that many interpreters present Thomas's thought as a natural-law morality. While natural law is an element of Thomas's moral theory, it plays a subordinate role to the virtue of prudence.
The natural law interpreters of St. Thomas's moral theory hold that (1) natural law is the dominant element, (2) natural law can be treated in isolation from Thomas's account of virtue, and (3) the principles of natural law make Thomas's moral theory abstract and deontological. These interpretations rarely consider the virtue of prudence. …

The 1990 meeting of the Kings Mountain Baptist Association met at Pleasant Grover Baptist Church and Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. The minutes are dedicated to the late Rev. Wilson Padgett and Rev. William Valentine Tarlton. Dr. Chris White, president of Gardner-Webb College, reports that Gardner-Webb has the largest number of ministerial students out of all Baptist colleges in North Carolina. Christopher Road Baptist Church was brought into full membership of the Association. The Strategy Planning Objectives were approved, including various retreats, evangelism in predominately Black communities, and educational opportunities for laity.
