The Nature and Constitution of Sacred Theology.
The Two Sources (Principia Cognoscendi) of the Existing Religions.
As we have seen, there are but two essentially different religions, the religion of faith, or of the Gospel, and the religion of works, or of the Law. So also there are but two actual sources (principia cognoscendi, principles of knowledge) from which these two divergent religions are taken. The religion of works is of human origin; it is a man-made religion, having its source and origin in the human heart, in which God has inscribed His divine Law, so that also the heathen, …

The Scriptural Viewpoint of the Christian Theologian.
Owing to the diverse views and tendencies prevailing among theologians to-day, it is necessary for the Christian theologian, before presenting to his readers his dogmatic treatise, to declare in clear and unmistakable terms from what viewpoint this has been written.
The viewpoint of the present-day modernistic theologian is that truth must be determined by human reason in the light of scientific research. The theological Liberalist therefore does not recognize Holy Scripture as the source and norm of faith, but bolds that this ancient standard of the Christian Church has been superseded by the …

The Theology Of Israel (From Abraham To Moses), Leroy C. Rincker
The Theology Of Israel (From Abraham To Moses), Leroy C. Rincker
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
We have thus endeavored to present Israel's early conception of God. The critical theories have been· tried and found wanting. They are weak and instead of. going to the core of the matter• they harp on external details. At times we were grieved by the blasphemous assertions of men, who refuse to bend their way to embrace plain facts; then again the :naive and arbitrary interpretations of Gunkel and Goldziher have interested and amused us.

The Religious Conditions Of Italy And Greece, Ewald Martin Plass
Master of Sacred Theology Thesis
Especially the theologian will find a careful study of these centuries of great value. It is the 'beginning of Christianity in its contact and conflict with Heathenism that one must unmistakably sees the secret of its power. It is then that one fully realizes that it is not only the sould, but also--thank God-the perfect remedy for a sin sick world. It is during these centuries that one cu plainly recognize God in history, that one is convinced secular history is but the background of church history and the entire world but the scaffold employed 'by God almighty to build …
