The use of computers in the study of theology has a long and positive history, yet the level of concern in response to the latest AI chatbots is understandable. This article explores how education and preaching need to adapt to this new technology and what its limitations are, as well as how it may make a positive contribution. The study concludes with a brief exploration of the kinds of sermon materials GPTs produced for the author when given prompts about the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4.

The Ongoing Relevance Of Sri Aurobindo Ghose, Edward Ulrich

SRI AUROBINDO has a mixed legacy. Among Indians he has both admirers and detractors. Those who admire him tend to include Bengalis who celebrate his role in the freedom struggle, devotees of his spiritual path, and Hindu nationalists who regard his synthesis of religion and nationalism as a forerunner of their agenda. Critics regard him as a traditionalist, a communalist, and a terrorist. However, both critics and admirers on the Hindu right tend to have a superficial read of this complex man. THIS article examines the contribution made by Sr Sara Grant R.C.S.J. to modern Christian engagement with Advaita Vedānta. It considers her own spiritual journey which led her to find in Advaita Vedānta a suitable way of expressing a non-dualist form of Christianity and how, in pursuit of this, she engaged both theologically with Advaita, like Richard de Smet S.J., and spiritually with Advaita like Swami Abhishiktandana. Over the past decade, the field of megachurch studies has matured and become global in its scope and orientation. The number of texts produced on megachurches since 2010 is nearly triple the number produced before that date, and many of the newest texts decenter North America. Megachurch studies today, therefore, is a properly international and cosmopolitan field. Western religious liberty advocates tend to focus on restrictions placed on minority religious communities, particularly when advocating abroad, that is, outside of the country in which they reside. In all contemporary democracies, however, adherents of religious majorities also express concerns about religious liberty. For this reason, the article considers both minority and majority concerns about institutional religious freedom in India. This essay provides an overview of religious freedom issues, with a particular focus on institutions, though, as I acknowledge, it is not always simple to distinguish individual from institutional matters of religious freedom. Digital technologies are used mostly for artifact preservation, but they can also be used for educating people about those artifacts in a museum context. This paper investigates the way various age groups react differently to distinct kinds of digitization technology. By using different technologies with certain age groups, adolescents can learn more from the artifacts or objects they are interacting with. This project aims to explore which technologies work with what age group in order to optimize adolescent education and artifact accessibility in museums.
